I need to rebuild my confidence with MWF soap. And now I just saw @Hembree 's post telling me I can do it(get good lather with MWF)...this after telling him I need to rebuild confidence in that soap. It's all about soap vs. water usage on MWF. I need that happy medium.

DE SOTD, Fri, Dec17th 2021 Razor: Yaqi 316 stainless steel head with a Yaqi Razzo Rocket handle- Mfg 2021, upper mid range(this head) 1st shave, the razor did a reasonable job of shaving, the machining of the head is not the best for centering blade 6.5/10, but the rest of the machining is very acceptable. It must be a hard to machine the top cap because I use to machine parts. There is enough blade feel that compensates for inaccuracies of centering the blade for my mature technique to compensate, but final results tell me that it is still a reasonable razor to work the face regardless IMO. Blade: Gillette Atlas superior platinum(1)my test standard blade, sharp & smooth with good longevity. Soap: Tabac, mild flowery scent with excellent lather qualities.(misted) Brush: Yaqi Moka 26 mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, great scrubber + great painter. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. Post shave: Razorock Emperor with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(balm) + scentless. Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper = excellent shave with my Yaqi SS 316 head razor with a Gillette Astra SP. Have some great shaves!

A new shave set up to start the Weekend....The Super Max BDT paired together with the Ming Shi 2000s wonderfully making an efficient razor & blade duo...Using the lightest of touch it sliced through my stubble with effortless ease...It's been some time since i used the Razorock "WTP?!" soap and forgot it takes a bit more time to build a lather, which for me isn't a big issue i find after the soap has been bloomed in tepid tap water for few minutes I'm rewarded with a rich, creamy slick protective lather with a good post shave feel. An enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Milton Lloyd no.9 Victor EDP to the pulse points. SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 18, 2021 My first custom razor from Yurii Kravchenko finally arrived yesterday. I ordered a 7/8 extra hollow with a custom pinch grip just below the blade collar, back on September 17. Yurii delivered exactly to my specifications which also included blue stabilized maple burl scales solidly constructed and assembled. The blade grind is clearly an extra hollow, and paper thin, but is a bit wavy as it doesn’t appear to be a stabilizing belly grind. Yurii did warn me to go easy on the honing and stropping with this blade. The mug shave was ok, but I do have some concerns regarding blade stability. I have a rather heavy, thick beard thanks to the Italian side of my family. This is the first straight shave where I experienced blade flex, which I was able to control by flattening the blade angle until the blade was practically flush with the shave surface. I really like the pinch grip, but believe I need a few more mug shaves with this razor to truly get the hang of it. I needed almost three and a half passes to do what I achieve in two and a half with my other custom and vintage razors. Thankfully, my faithful Cooper Monobilt came through with flying colors for my noggin shave, after my somewhat disappointing mug shave. This little razor when loaded with a Feather blade always delivers the goods, and that was certainly the case this morning. This little OC masterpiece really felt good gliding through the slick, yogurty MWF lather this morning. Two ATG passes put the baby to bed. I feel smooth, clean and velveteen from noggin to shoulders. RAZOR: Kravchenko Zodiac Extra Hollow 7/8 (Mug), Cooper Monobilt (Dome) BLADE: Feather DE (Dome) PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: Rooney Ebony Pure Badger SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
