I agree! I recently purchased a 100 pack of those and also some samples of PAL Blue Carbon Steel, GEM Carbon Steel, and GEM Stainless Steel blades just to see how they are. I've heard not great but I need to know that for myself.
I'll second that recommendation. Also, I have settled on my favorite Gems, so if anyone wants to give certain models a try, happy to share.
Well it is odd for Canada post to deliver on a Sunday(just arrived today) but it does occur around Christmas time because they have a huge volume of parcels so they allow some of the employees to work a little overtime this time of the year. I bought these on a Wednesday just before black Friday sale on Yaqi live. This was a sale I couldn't resist buying stuff I really do not need possibly but it was fun for myself. These are very nice brushes and wanted another boar brush for the Den ( soaking in the fridge for approx. 3 days). Still more incoming in the next few days possibly in our snail mail service because of problems from British Columbia, Canada. We got these terrible atmospheric rivers that washed out roads and bridges with mud slides in the Rocky Mountains range, could not of happened at a worse time of the year with winter setting in. Folks lost everything other than their lives luckily( I pray for these folks). Weird weather this year world wide, we are witnessing possibly global warming. Brushes (L) Yaqi 24mm tailcoat in stand, Yaqi Orbital ring boar bristle, Yaqi Colorful Mysterious space 24mm timber wolf knot, Yaqi Purple Haze 24mm Mew Brown knot. Yaqi has been trying to sell soaps recently, bought one of their "The Green" sampler soaps made in South Africa by a Artisan and a travel razor case with some masks thrown in. Have some great shaves!
I got this leaf for my wife for Xmas. it was suppose to be new but it was used. The price was too good to pass up so i gave it to my wife now to see if she liked it before returning it and she did. So my wife has officially been converted away from carts!! Its been a year in the making! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Monday’s mail call is first from @americanshamrock I got 10 Voskhod and 25 Rapira Swedish Supersteel blades. From Maggard Razors I got their Tobacco & Leather shave soap and aftershave.
That Tobacco and Leather is great stuff ..... I liked it so much I bought the edt ..... my oldest son liked it so much he's getting it for Christmas.
Just received this brush also in the mail today, bought this one on sale around black Friday. I wanted a soft silvertip and this one came up and I liked the handle for some time so bought it. Early Christmas presents and few more incoming in a week or two. Yaqi mysterious space 24mm Silvertip badger, these brushes are more for painting lather but I have a high mountain silver tip that is a high density knot that has some back bone and paints well. I'm new to badgers this year and the prices have been affordable to give them a go. Cleaned up and ready for a shave tomorrow! Have some great shaves!
On the way in. Yaqi had a flash sale last night. I could not resist. Artic Sky Deep Blue Two Band Badger Telstar stainless steel head.
Just got back from my local Burlington Factory and scored this bottle of Calvin Klein Obsession aftershave for $25.
From @Enrico: Karve razor with B, C and D plates, two brushes, Gibbs tech razor and below that, snips. And two WSP Sandalwood soaps from a member on a FB wet shavers group........

Looking forward to your review on the Telstar SS head. I have a few of their 24mm 2band badgers and I really enjoy them, soft tips with nice backbone. I also have a Artic sky 24mm silvertip badger on the way also(bought on sale). I do have some experience with the Artic sky 24mm synthetic and works very well, the handle feels great in the hand, blue & green being my favorite colors. Enjoy your new shave gear.
Thanks Ron. I'll let you know how the Telstar does. I've got my eye on the Yaqi Title head. It will be on sale this afternoon. Yaqi is having another live sale this afternoon....just in case you needed to know.
Noticing the year Maggard began(2012) I am proud to announce that next year, Maggard will join Stoylin as being eligible for Throwback Thursdays.
An Aramis mug I have considered getting for awhile and another Gibbs Brush that will get a new Boar Knot to replace the nasty stained synthetic in it.
I have that head and mine is not machined 100%, one side shaves slightly more aggressive. So I have adjustable by just turning it 180 degrees, I used it this morning and cranked out a great shave. It is a mid range but more aggressive at least on the one side slightly. I experimented with turning the top cap 180 degrees and concluded after measuring the top cap it was off by .007 thousands of a inch. Yaqi is going to replace it hopefully after talking to Aliexpress about the issue.
