Thursday morning shave, CVH MK No.31 with Ivory scales. The narrowest of my 31”. Really nice shave. Splash Floris No 127.

I actually have two of them - I am fond of pairs. The one on the left is a nice user grade that I got from Stefan Stoianov years ago, and it’s the one that went 153 shaves with just linen and leather. I need to re-do the gold lyre somehow. The other one belonged to a friend on B&B who had a big sale to well, buy more razors! This one was NOS when he got it. The Sub Cero is a favorite so I’m glad to have them both. And a red handled one.

Filarmonica 14 Sub Cero, the one on the right, soap was Yardley lathered with a Razorock (Zenith) boar. A splash of Agua Balsamica finished up a great shave.

SOTD CHRISTMAS EVE MORNING, DECEMBER 24, 2021

Busy day today, but the morning shave checked all the boxes. The Ellis &Allan “Edgar Allan Poe” 8/8 stubtail took care of my mug stubble, although I will admit wielding this behemoth takes care. Three and a half passes were necessary to clean up the mug for church tonight. The Eclipse Red Ring did its usual two pass ATG noggin sweep, and all was right with the world. I’m clean and velveteen from noggin to shoulders. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! May the love and peace of Christ warm your hearts and see you through to the next year! POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.

 

A nice French St Joanis ‘Le Triomphe’ was up today, soap was MdC vetyver lathered with a festive red Omega 49. A splash of Floris 89 has me feeling festive too.

 

The big Filly made a lot of noise this morning and left a smooth, smooth, face for my honey to appreciate. The Old Spice is always a bonus as well

Christmas morning greetings to all my TSD friends!

The scents of Christmas past this morning, Strop Shoppe Russian Tea lathered with the Omega 49, razor was a Tanifuji Spalding. A little bit of Old Spice has me smelling good.

 

CHRISTMAS DAY, 2021

Happy Christmas as they say on the other side (eastern side) of the pond. Just a quick report as we prepare to host Christmas dinner for the clan! We’re expecting 26, children, grandchildren and my sole great-grandchild. Should be a fun time. I'm making my usual garlic encrusted tenderloin. I wish everyone who celebrates Christmas a glorious day with friends and family! This morning’s shave featured my new-to-me Wilbert Cutlery Regal (mug) and my Spadson safety razor (dome). The shave was glorious, how could it not be on this day of days! I’m smooth, cool, clean and velveteen!
