I’m in love with this Vintage Spice soap and aftershave - my brother Fernando really nailed it with the scent because as I said many times, it’s exactly the same as the Shulton Old Spice. IMHO this soap has even better lather than the Old Spice and better skincare. The Bull Dog moisturizer gave me great soothing, and the Vintage Spice aftershave went on so comfortably along with its heavenly Shulton Old Spice scent that I love so much. Three passes left me smoother than silk!

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fatboy E2 Razor with a Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

2021 turned out to be a rather expensive year. We have two gas furnaces, one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Gas furnaces tend to last about 10 to 12 years according to my friend, Doug, who’s been in the heating and cooling business for over half a century. Mine lasted 15 years. The upstairs heat exchanger cracked first, followed by the downstairs about two weeks later. Doug provided electric room heaters during the furnace replacement project which took a day for each furnace.

This morning’s mug shave featured my Saito SK3, one of my favorite straight razors. It holds an excellent edge and made short work of my mug stubble cleaning things up in two and a half passes. Just for a change of pace I grabbed my Model C Schick Repeating razor and had a very decent two pass ATG noggin shave. I feel clean, cool and velveteen.

RAZOR: Saito SK3 (Mug), Schick Repeating Razor Model C (Dome)
BLADE: Schick Injector
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE #007 Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot
SOAP: Mike’s Hungarian Lavender
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys WH. Finished with RR Eucalyptus 888 AS Splash.

I see MIKE's NATURAL has Kokum butter. PAA does, too(and I suppose many others).

Your brush looks great atop the Vintage Spice soap.

Razor: Valet Auto-strop Canadian variant- Mfg 1920's-30's NDCodes, I always like using these razors once you get them dialed in and have a sharp blade in one. I find the FHS-10 blade only good for a few shaves and then tossed. Great razor for it's time period from my limited research because you could shave & strop a carbon blade with the same razor.
The FHS-10 is the only blade that will fit the later versions of Valet Auto-Strop, C types & below will take a modified Gem blade which is superior blade IMO.
Blade: Feather FHS-10 (2)- great shave on first use and quickly fades out on sharpness, only blade that fits some Valet auto strop razors.
Soap: Razorock Blue barber, nice barber shop scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi "the Panda" 24mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice gentle scrub, great painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock blue barber AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion (balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = great shave with my Valet auto-strop with a feather FHS-10 blade.

Another wonderful effortless 2 pass +pickups close comfortable shave from my much loved 1970's tech to finish my last shave of 2021 in style... The Personna Platinum Chrome blade paired together wonderfully with non-aggressive tech making an excellent smooth efficient razor & blade duo.

Over the past year my traditional wet shaving hobby has provided me with much needed enjoyment & relaxation which has kept me focused throughout another eventful year.

Let's hope 2022 will continue to bring back a feeling of normality stability, hope & peace of mind.
