BAUME.BE one of my favorite shaving creams, quick to lather, super dense with excellent slick and long lasting face feel. Lavender Planet....reminding me that is was low 70s yesterday about 2pm, then by 5pm it's in the 20s (with a single digit 'feels like').

I am glad you are enjoying it, Karl. That Masa or Tamahagane steel does have a different feel and I always was able to get a sharp and smooth edge on it after buying it from Takeshi Aoki of Aframes Toyko in Hawaii. Takeshi did the original hone and was very particular about his edges.

I've been intrigued by your razor stand. Never come across one like that for sale...looks very sturdy compared to the totally fickle and unstable stainless steel wire shaped versions. I've wasted $ on two, and given up on that style. Couple questions if that's okay. What size is the hole for the tang? Is there any insert, or lining, in the hole (for better stabilization)? Thinking I may try recreating it. Maybe wood first to get the dimensions, then possibly some plastic, maybe even SS eventually.

If the pasted strops don't fix it....guess it's time to dig the hone setup out of hiding.
