Here's an old C.V. Heljestrand. The tang stamp references The Great Exhibition Of The Works Of Industry Of All Nations 1851 and The Great Industrial Exposition Of Stockholm 1866. It has residual lower jimps near the heel which remind me of a 200 year old Scargill that someone told me had been reground from a wedge into a hollow ground. I haven't shaved with it yet.

I recently bought a Heljestrand MK 24 7/16 but I can't find any information about this model. It's not even listed in razorknife databases or maybe I'm just unable to find information about this special item. Do you know this model and can you tell me something about it? Approximately how much is it worth? I will send it to a blacksmith to have the blade sharpened and polished to bring it back to it's former glory. The Helvestrand is in wonderful condition. Bought a couple of straight razors in Sweden a few weeks ago and would like to start collecting them to shave myself. Prices for Helvestrand Razors fluctuate a lot on the internet. Would like a professional opinion. That's why I registered in this forum. Somehow the passion grabbed me. Thank you for your help.

Etsy asking prices are crazy, unrealistic. Look at eBay completed auctions to see what is really being paid, not what’s being asked.

I saw a MK No. 24 for 200€... of coarse in beautiful condition but I still don't know what is the best blade for a good shave and which type of Heljestrand straight razors is the most collected... do you think my MK No. 24 is a good one to begin with?
