  1. I have to agree Jeff. The ShakeSharp is a very good razor and I am glad to have one.

  2. Simple shaves are fine with me Gary. It's the vanilla scent strong?

  3. :eatdrink047:.it isn't that strong and is gone quickly, faint hints after bit.cool old school scent though..:)

  4. Hello folks! I am another Eric, and will join in on an almost 30 day challenge to use my injectors! I have been a very inactive member here since sometime in 2017. I would like to change that.

Here is today's set up, and most likely only the brush will change for through the weekend.

    Schick Type J
    Schick injector blade (Japan)
    Ethos Clean
AP Shave Co. Luxury mixed badger/boar knot in Fluffy Industries 86S copper handle

This morning was an amazing shave for a couple of reasons. First is that apparently this was my first use of the Type J! I would have sworn I'd used it but I hadn't, per my notes. I bought it last year and then read comments of folks saying it shaves very much like the Type I. As I love my Hydro-Magic, I decided to let this one go. Thankfully, no one bought it! Now it is mine, all mine, bwa ha ha ha!!:happy108:

Secondly, I have used a Type M since Tuesday doing an ATG under my probiscis. That area is very sensitive ATG, but a Type M dialed low works like magic for me!

  5. Another fabulous Focus shave, Danny! Is the con cavity on the top plate of the head? Have a great day!

  6. Great shave, Joe, with one of my favorite vintage straights! I don’t know about yours, but mine really belts out the lButtering Toast” song during use. Glad to read that you’re mostly fully recovered from the surgery! Enjoy your day!

  7. Thanks, Joe! You do the same!

  12. Great shave, Joe! I know I’ve said this before, but Artie does look intimidating. How is the heft and balance in hand?

  13. Love the handle on that Tech, Gary! Great shave kit and photo!

  14. Jeff, I’ll be forever grateful to you for introducing me to this awesome little shaver. Mine only sees duty as a noggin shaver these days. I really think it’s impossible to nick oneself with this razor, particularly with the two stacked DEs. Truly a safety razor design for the ages!
  15. How fun to see you here Eric! I discovered TSD a few weeks ago when searching for info about injectors. My search led to an excellent history of injectors posted by @BBS . It is located at the Safety Razor Master Sticky https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/safety-razor-master-sticky.22273/

As I am sure you have read in the initial January post, you are free to focus on anything you like in "Shave School". Joe @Trigger and others provide great expert advice. I plan to focus on using a recently acquired Feather DX in Feb. I only mention it as I noted your interest in the manly art of single edge shaving :) @Trigger has already given me some great advice that I am using to prepare for Feb.
  16. Great shave, Eric, and welcome back! I don’t own an M, but do have the I and L. All are great shavers! I like using mine with Schick Injector II twin blades. Looking forward to following your progress this month! Hey, what else is there for a bored soon-to-be 75 year old. ;)

  17. Eric, I own a Feather DX. They are terrific razors. I’ll look forward to following you with yours, and will probably join in with mine. Enjoy your shaves!

  18. Thanks Jeff. I have been "shaving one pass" without a blade to get a sense of how it feels. It has been good for me to focus in the mirror on angle without concern for cuts. I am building non-dominant hand dexterity as well.
  19. Thanks Jeff.

The concave is in the cap and base plate. I hope this picture explains the difference between the Tritok heads.

I have seen reviews that state the Concave is the most aggressive out of the three. When my slant gets in we shall see.

    Take care.
  20. Hey, you are right, those Dummies Guides by @BBS are great resources. I am off to look up some info on the Type J now!
