Hi everyone and a good evening!

    20220107_170445.jpg

    Mühle R102 (R41)
    Rockwell DE Blade ( fresh)
    JR # 290 Cashmere Brush
Cremo Sandalwood Brushless Shave Cream (preshave)
    Arko SS
    Stirling Bay Rum AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Dome Growth: 2 days

I normally don't post my headshaves unless I also do a face shave at the same time or tried something different. I have used Arko and Cremo separately for my headshaves, but never together. I decided to use the Cremo as a preshave and then lather with the Arko. I had to test it with my most aggressive safety razor with a fresh blade. This was an epic headshave. I usually need 3 passes and touchups to get cueball smooth. However, two passes would have been a near BBS shave and I could have ended this shave, but I did the third pass and didn't need to do any touchups. The headshave was very easy to accomplish. It resulted in cueball smooth without any errors.
Did not get any feedback from the alum block. After the witch hazel splash, I hit the dome with Stirling Bay Rum aftershave. Usually, I get that Bay Rum burn, but not with this shave. This showed me that I had a perfect headshave. I am still touching my dome. Lol! Take care.

We’ve had a decent snow fall up here in Missouri. It hit 8 degrees today. Most of you northerners would laugh. But I guess for us southerners that’s pretty cold. We train out side so we’ve been staying nice and bundled up.

That's very cold for downstate New Yorkers. The Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean helps to keep the winter air from becoming that frigid. However, it does happen, but rarely. Today, we got our first significant snowfall. It was about 5 to 6 inches by me. Other parts of Long Island had upwards to 9 inches. Oh well, it will be Spring 73 days from now.

It’s the Crown King ceramic scuttle from a few years ago. PAA now sells a rubber travel version, which I will get if a catastrophic drop occurs to this one!

Thanks Joe. However, I only did a headshave. I simultaneously used Cremo and Arko together for the very first time.

I've used the same brush and loaded from a full tub of soap and didn't have any issues. This time I was using a scoop from a sample and I guess I didn't put enough in the lather bowl. Live and learn! Thanks for the info. It is very helpful.

I did. I had started with a barely wet brush and then added just a bit of water. The lather in the bowl seemed fine but as soon as the brush touched my face, it disappeared. It was like a magic trick!

Hey, no worries. I've used many razors that others swear by and I just can't seem to get along with. I agree with you that the J type is a very good blend of efficiency and smoothness. The J2 I have is a breeze to use, and I do really like the longer handle. I'm loving the injector January!

As above, the J is excellent. I'm glad to see you enjoy it as much as I do. You mention Japanese Schick blades, just curious, how did you get a hold of them? I've seen some for sale on eBay but they are pretty expensive.

Uh oh. Well, I hope that not cancelling means you get to be an early user of an excellent razor. I think it looks pretty compelling myself but that's why I backed it of course. And yes, you will get the blades that hopefully you like as much as I do!

You're welcome Eric. I understand how having a small sample of soap in the bowl can cause that problem.
