I have no problem with tallow soaps but this soap is one that will show you you don't NEED tallow and will stand against all the tallow soaps and hold it's own in my book.

    Menthol Monday:

    Another wonderful Grand Freeze!

    Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Gillette Platinum day 6
    Stirling Glacial Citron SS
    Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB
    Stirling Glacial Citron AS Splash

The same type of frigid setup but with a different scent - the Glacial Citron is a lovely blend of lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine with a little lime thrown in, the beef tallow formula gives the lather great slickness - hell, my razor felt like it was skating across my face, the menthol sensation from this soap is so potent, and the skincare is perfect. I finally finished off the Glacial Unscented balm, and the Glacial Citron aftershave not only froze my face to smithereens it smells as beautiful as the matching soap. This was such an enjoyable three pass BBS shave!

Have a good week - be well and safe!

    Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite soap.
    Timeless shave bowl.
    Royal Copenhagen cologne.

Awesome shave this morning but boy is this a mild slant. It is definitely milder than the Concave.

We have a new convert to the wet shaving world. A friend at work was talking about how he wished he had a twist to open razor like his grandfather had and how expensive cartridge razors are now so I fixed him up with a 1960 Flare Tip and some Astra SPs. He shaved last night for the first time with it and said it was his best shave ever. I told him that it only gets better. I also told him to keep using his canned goo for a while and I would fix him up with a brush and soap. I did not want to throw to many variables at him at one time.

    Happy Monday everyone!

    Cold Water Rinse
    Eskimo Tuxedo Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #20 Silvertip Badger
    Merkur Progress
    Wilkinson Sword SS
    CWR
    Osage Rub

The Eskimo Tuxedo Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #20 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Merkur Progress Razor with a Wilkinson Sword SS Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thank you to a former member, who shall remain nameless, for re-igniting my enjoyment of straight shaving.
The Pipe Razor is probably the easiest to strop of all my straights.
How it sits in the hand; tight pins; geometry, etc.
Lest I forget to mention the nice, keen edge.
I am diligently getting to the bottom of this soap. The soap fairy keeps adding a few grams every evening.
Manchurian hair is thicker than Best and lends itself to a "scrubbier" feel.
Opened up a small cut from yesterday, but it didn't bleed.
Post shave was "business as usual" and today's scent is from the house of Rasasi:

What we have here is a clone (not quite) of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather.
TF has a much stronger raspberry opening, while the Rasasi substitutes a stronger leather accord.
There is a fruity opening, as well, but it is not too sweet.
This is very good juice and worth your attention.

:thanks: This is a “second chance” razor. When I was first starting out I had a technology failure bidding on a square point just like it and didn’t get the winning bid as a result. Some years later this one came up and I snagged it for a bargain - I love the scales as well - and the shave is superb.

Stirling Shave Soap - Vanilla Sandalwood
    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Star Jelly
    Jason’s 2019 30dc LE w/Omega Boar
    Cooper Monobilt w/Polsilver
Milton Lloyd - The Man Silver EdT (YSL Kouros homage)

Very nice 2.5 passer this morning, the Monobilt is another favorite DE. Easy to maneuver, great in the hand feel, responds well to the ‘ride the cap’ technique.

First use of this juice, a PIF from Joseph. It’s definitely a throwback to the musky animalic side of fougères in the 80s. A bit soapy after the dry down to my nose. Wifey approves…all that matters.
