:signs001: Jeff....If one shaving product represents traditional wet shaving, Old Spice always comes to mind..I have never had the pleasure experiencing the original Shulton version, but the P&G version is one of my all time favourite AS splashes:love055:

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: C V Heljestrand 14 7/8” Camel Bone Scales
Brush: Hembree Derlin Paragon Boar 25 mm
Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Fabulous chilly morning shave following an intense X3Bar Pull workout with the protocol of 3seconds up, 3 seconds down. Not only does this challenge all muscles involves but the mental aspect as well.

This morning’s shave featured the software of Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos after a two week hiatus and the hardware of the CV Heljestrand and Hembree brush. Some of you may recall that the soap is slated for the fate of the Edmund Fitzgerald as it has been the focus of my 1508.5 Project. The 1508.5 Project will recommence in February in earnest.

I received a close and comfortable shave although not as close with this blade as previously. I may give it a go again tomorrow with a different soap, most likely a Stirling product, to see if there is a difference. If not it will be time to refresh the blade.

Well today is not a day to venture out if you do not really have the need. I wil have to later to take my son to his kickboxing and Ju Jitsu classes. :Animatedfrozensmily:

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Nice shave Joe. It does seem that the edge needs to be refreshed.

It may SAY Old Spice on the bottle, but it looks to me like NEW Spice, if it ain't Shulton. I agree, same essential idea and not TOO far off than Shulton, but I really wonder what P&G found wrong with the original(Shulton)scent.

Probably the price of the ingredients to make it the same scent. Or copyright issues.?

I would guess some of the items in the original formula were too expensive to continue to produce it. It's all about being cost effective to make a reasonable profit.

It isn't just the New Spice I wonder about......Rise Superfoam did a similar thing-it ain't the original. The Superfoam aftershave balm does provide SOME of the old scent though-I'll give 'em that.

I should cut down on saying "ain't"....but people do say that.
