I had the A.S. once. Might go for the double-play(w/soap)later. It's a great one.

ASW (made by Wet Shaving Products) Shave Soap and Aftershave - Old Virginia

Great 2.5 pass shave, everything performed very nicely. The 'Old Virginia' is a very rustic 'leather and tobacco' aroma put together by Lee at Wet Shaving Products for Asylum Shave Works (but discontinued). If you're looking for it...it's nearly the same as WSP's 'Tobacco', but this version seems slightly deeper/darker. You can see the soap is very dark brown, so I always use a synthetic or boar knot to lather this with.

Had a little fun in the 'studio' with the image today. The highlight on the blade etching is done with an extra flashlight that I can very tightly focus the beam to be the LED itself that makes the light. The LED is a rectangle....so it works pretty neat. Captured with an iPhone.

 

You know the "Outstanding" joke, right? A man with a B.S. in Chemistry can be seen in a grassy area, from a distance. He's a man "Out Standing In His Field"

 

DE SOTD, Wed, Jan12th, 2022

Razor: Razorock 2nd Gen Lupo.72- Mfg 2021>excellent mid range, great design for clamping, mostly a carefree shave.
Blade: Gillette silver blue(4) excellent blade, Sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity. Top tier for sure.
Soap: Razorock XXX, mild fresh scent, excellent tallow base with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm coat tails synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber + great painter.
Pre shave :Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock XXX with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Razorock Lupo.72 with a GSB blade.

By year's end, I'll have to make a choice for another Barbershop shave. As of now, my choices are a repeat of Grandpa's Barbershop(Central Texas Soaps), Stoylin's Barbershop(my first ever Stoylin), and maybe that Honor.

The blade ruined the shave, it felt like jagged glass. The soap smells just like MWF and lathers awesome. The only thing it isnt as slick. Its slick just not quite. This soap is a lush… it just drinks and drinks and drinks.. overall a great soap

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Sea Salt & Fennel Extract 2 in1 Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap with Mint Extracts.
Brush: Omega 48.
Mug Lather.
Lather : Williams Mug Shaving Soap.
Blade: Treet Classic. (D4)
Razor: Parker 94r.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Williams Aqua Velva ASL. (Spanish Version)

Early Morning Shave,

It's been a while since i last used my Parker 94r which paired together with the Treet carbon classic very nicely with no issues making a smooth efficient razor & blade duo...The hefty weight of this small very effective razor adds to it's wonderful assertiveness.

Last outing of the Treet carbon classic blade which started to feel rough on the second pass quickly losing it's smoothness....That said, it's done considerably well for it's 4th outing, and has still gave me giving me acceptable shave's throughout the week without any major issues.

An acceptable 2 pass + pick ups DFS shave with no errors to report....Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.

The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #20 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Merkur Progress Razor with a Wilkinson Sword SS Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
