Injector and SE Shaves

Razor: Yaqi V2 Excalibur AC 50mm- Mfg 2021> excellent tame mid range, Very enjoyable carefree shave this morning, good design, small head parts can make it difficult to assemble, work over a wash cloth makes life a whole lot better for assembly, excellent daily driver for most folks IMO.
Blade: Feather pro AC- sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. 1st shave with this blade is awesome usually.
Soap: Yaqi Green sample croap- nice mild fresh scent, excellent lather qualities. I think it is a good soap for 1st use.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Dandelion cashmere knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice gentle scrub + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Fine fresh Vetiver with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturising lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = Excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Feather AC professional.

To start this new rotation I chose my favourite Vintage SE an ER Streamline. I find that it delivers excellent Shaves provided one adopts a light touch/ no pressure technique and of course do not rush. Before I found out that AC/ SEs are so easy to use, The Streamline was my special occasion Razor.

The Arko Shave Stick lathered well with the SlimGem Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1907 Gem Jr. Lather Catcher Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Sunday Schick shave, Jan 9th 2022

Razor: Schick adjustable injector, model 3- Mfg 1970-72, excellent razor with a good range of aggression and efficentcy, well built to last and I enjoy this razor around 2-3 setting with adequate blade feel. There is more comfort at the lower end settings I enjoy.
Blade: Personna injector, SS PTFE (4) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Gillette pure cream- nice mild scent, excellent lather qualities. This is a great mass produced cream IMO.
Brush: Yaqi Mysterious space 24mm silver tip badger, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, nice gentle scrubber + excellent lather painter. The thinner badger hairs give the softness but with high density knot gives a great scrub also IMO.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Schick adj injector M3 with a coated Personna injector blade.

I went with the British Pal Injectomatic today. I think it's time to swap the blade out. Still a good shave though.
Williams and a Boar brush are hard to beat especially when followed by a little Thayers and Aqua Velva.

This is my first use of a Clog Pruf in a long time. Though I find it to be on the mild side, it actually does deliver a rather decent all round finish which is long lasting.

 

I had a nice easy shave with the Micromatic Open Comb this morning.

Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(8) excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Lavender, nice masculine lavender scent, excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Chianti's 24mm synthetic- Excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrub + excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS, no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Gem MMCP with a coated Gem blade.

I had a wonderfully easy shave with the Ever-Ready 1914. I face lathered with Palmolive stick and A RozoRock Boar. Pinaud Clubman aftershave lotion add the finishing touch.

Razor: Gem Feather weight, 1st Generation- Mfg-1st gen 1950-52, 2nd gen 1953-54, excellent tame mid range, one of my favorites, weights 1 OZ, still works very well as the day MFG and was a fast carefree shave this morning with a Gem Personna on 9 uses.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(9) excellent, very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Lavender nice masculine scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Artic sky HD24mm silver tip, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow soft tips, nice scrubber + excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender Aftershave with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my ASR Gem Feather weight with a coated gem blade.

Having used a clog pruf on my last Shave I got the angles spot on today. Probably my best ever Shave with this Razor, very comfortable with not a hint of mishap and a superb finish.

Though a comfortable Shave with a decent enough finish, it is nowhere as good as that I had yesterday with a Gem Micromatic original.

Today I used my Hoshitombo 6000 and my 1887 Kampfe Bros Star with a wedge blade. I ended up with a very comfortable shave. Vintage Williams lathered easily with the Zenith Boar brush and Aqua Velva is always a great finishing touch.

Razor: Yaqi V2 Excalibur AC 50mm. Mfg 2021> Great design, tame mid range, small head parts, carefree shaving mostly, one of my favorites. Work over a wash cloth because of small parts I have concluded. Great daily driver IMO.
Blade: Feather AC Professional(3) Sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity for a 50mm blade.
Soap: Razorock Don Marco, nice citrus scent on a cold winter day + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Goblin 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub, excellent painter + great handle!
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Italian barber Amici splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Feather Pro blade.
