  1. The Iwasaki 33 is a beautiful razor Jeff! Congrats on your maiden shave with it.

  2. Shows an empty folder for me too. Perhaps there is a setting in Google to share your content that must be switched?
  3. Not my idea, credit Josh aka Subie Shaves, Winning Razor head on a working Stahly handle. Awkward of course but it does completely solve the weird suction issue with the head and delivers great results (Kai blade). Handle is in great condition and has enough juice to complete my usual multidirectional pass on my head. Will try this again with MDC as the little holes in the baseplate do clog with the oil/TJ cream I'm using lately. [IMG]

  5. Thanks, Joe! It was one of two grail razors. Now only one remains, but those are even more difficult to find.

  6. Great shave, Jeff! Great combo frankenrazor, your specialty! I always learn from and enjoy your posts!
  7. I am going try and download it on YouTube once again. For some reason it didn't do it originally and decided to link it via my Google pic app. Unfortunately, I thought most people would have it. Obviously, my presumption wasn't so good. Technology's a great thing.

Razor: Martens HDW Co. 11/16” Kingwood scales
Brush: Shore Shave Creamsicle Swirl 24 mm White Synthetic

Lather: Pre de Provence No. 63
Aftershave: Pre de Provence No. 63 Aftershave Balm
    Osage Rub
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

A wonderful citrus forwarded shave provided courtesy of the Pre de Provence 63. The synthetic brush whipped up a medium thick lather with a tremendous amount of glissade.
The Martens HDW straight, a 5/8ths, easily swiped away in his mornings growth.

I have taken it easy this morning as I am feeling a little under the weather. I have developed a baggy cough which seems to really express itself whenever I try to lay down to rest. Other than the cough, I feel great. A stellar shave will assist I. That department as well.

I hope you are all having a great day gentlemen.

  13. Super shave Eric. Not that I need any soaps but how would you describe the scent of the Melange?

  17. You will like it best if familiar with the fictional world of Dune (book and/or movie). It is a very creative take on the melange of Arrakis. It is not terribly strong or offensive as some B&M scents can be. It has a pleasant organic scent, but not earthy and loamy; a nice spice scent, but not like food.

My son and I saw the movie last month. He read the book, and I am in the middle of them too. I purchased the soap as a Christmas gift for him. I am glad to be able to sample it, but I am not sure I would purchase a full tub for myself. It is subtle, pleasant, not too strongly scented, and the omnibus base is excellent.

  18. Very nice shave, pic and setup Gary! Have a great real first day on your new job!
  19. I saw the brush before reading your post and thought it reminded me of a Creamsicle. Little did I know that's the exact name of the handle.
Anyway, it was a terrific shave with a nice setup. Hope you will better soon Joe. Take care.

  20. Great shave, Gary! Hope you’re enjoying the new job!
