    Menthol Monday:

The Mother of all Grand Freezes!

    Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Gillette Platinum day 6
    Stirling Glacial Spearmint SS
    Stirling Glacial Spearmint ASB
    MSC Frosted Spearmint AS Spray

What a pity that this Glacial Spearmint soap and balm were discontinued because I think that they’re both so terrific. The scent is gorgeous - it filled the bathroom while I was lathering up, the lather was so rich, super slick, protective, and FRIGID, with such a soothing, moisturizing postshave feeling. The matching balm has that same delightful scent with lots of moisturizing as well as lots of menthol, and Fernando’s Frosted Spearmint aftershave has the SAME scent along with a killer cold menthol sensation. Three passes left me completely BBS and feeling great!

Have a good week - be well and safe!

    Thanks, Jeff.

This soap is not that cold. I would say, about 5 on a scale of ten.

Shave of the Week Starting 24 January 2022

    Gillette New Short Comb razor
    Sharp Star blade
    Vie Long Silver Tip brush
    Lea Menthol SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Assorted A/S

Been awhile but glad to be back. Covid really kicked my behind and still having lingering effects which p**s me off. Anyway, all the parts like each other and a fine shave was had. I really like the Lea SC, it just works so well for me. Now go enjoy your day folks. Stay healthy. BTW, can't seem to load pic today, sorry about that.

MMMonday, Jan 24th 2020,ASR=AmericanSafetyRazor shave this morning.

Razor: Star Bar #4- Mfg 1919-20, excellent tame mid range, so easy to get a BBS with this razor with a new blade. Just a great audio feed back carefree shave this morning, It does not get much better IMO. Could be last model of lather catcher Star MFG!?
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) excellent blade, Very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore, nice light tobacco & Vanilla scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 22 mm Sagrada Familia 2 band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrubber + great painter. One of my favorite 2 band badgers, nice size and face feel.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = [IMG]Excellent shave with my Star bar #4 with a coated Gem blade.

Castle Forbes came out in 1445? Wow....47 years before Chris Columbus did America.

I considered Nakeed&Smooth before the majority here told me to order Sheep. (Doc Ezlovan himself said so).

I got a sample of Sheep based upon great reviews and I'm always eager to try new unscented soaps. The soap made an excellent, creamy, thick lather, but... I personally just could not get past the hint of a mutton/sheep smell in the soap base.

My ideal for an unscented soap is very little smell from the base, or if there is some smell, it should be subtle or neutral. This is a definitely a personal preference matter, but I just did not like the smell of the sheep soap base.

I am a great fan of the Sterling tallow soap base in "Naked & Smooth". That soap base has a soapy smell, but it is subtle and rather pleasant.

The great majority of Fine soap choices I see in here is Snake Bite. There are others, y'know. HOWEVUH.......it's your shave-enjoy it.
