I didn't see hybrid on yours, assumed it was like my #58. Hard to tell, but it looks like yours has a flat bottom plate.
1950s brit ball end tech the pinnacle of tech design imo. i find this tech to be the best overall gillette tech for many reasons. blade retention,weight/balance, plating finish,availability,affordability are a few. while some other older versions like the flat bottom and fat handle have certain characteristics, this one came out of the gate with all the improvements in one box. perfect daily shaver for those who like mild efficient razors and it loves a sharp blade..
I have a bunch of razors, but for me the elegant simplicity of the first Super Speeds takes some beating. They're not fancy, just simple, elegant, sturdy and functional with their styrene boxes which often look as good as they did over 70 years ago. This one is an NDC from 1949...

Today was a fun project day. I bought this nasty thing...so nasty the blade in it rusted to pieces and fused to the silo doors. I like a challenge, so I brought it into my home, quarantined it to soak in scrubbing bubbles, and got to work. Doors stuck, dial frozen, hours of penetrating oil and pressure up and down on the blade tray got it moving again. Back to soap and a toothbrush, disassembly, 3,000 grit polish by hand, and she's an ugly princess. Sent from my SM-G977U using Tapatalk
