  1. thank you Jeff.pairing down my collection and only keeping cased sets.;):eatdrink047:
  2. That is a terrific Tuesday shave Barry. Have a terrific day as well.
  3. Awesome rebound Paul.
  4. Very nice shaves Jeff. May I ask why the change in shaving your dome?

  5. :signs001: Joe...Have a terrific day yourself.:happy088:
  6. Wonderful shave Joe! I am not an X3bar guy so I know you would handily beat me. Lol! However, I can do two 15 min sets of rowing. The first set I go much harder than my second set with 10 min rest period between sets.
  7. Great job on your attempt with a straight Eric! Because you are new to straights, I believe you should use it when you are not under pressure such as the weekend. Straight shaving demands that you relax and take your time. The speed will come later.
  8. Thank you for both the encouragement and the advice!
  9. Thanks Joe....I'm not sure about this right cheek issue, my theory is I am a lefty so the left hand provides the stronger shave. As it is, the ingrown hairs are on the right side of Cactus Nation.
  10. Sure was. I have some "theories" I offered trigger as to why this one was much better, although I still haven't conquered the right-cheek issue. @Trigger may shoot em down, but I'm interested to see what he says. Sorry about the loss of your friend.

  11. Thanks Jeff...with Stoylin Sheep followed by Bill Neumann, they SHOULD be great. That's why yesterdays was a waste.

  12. Eric, one of the guys who helped me several years ago on this thread, Keith (@Keithmax), who resides in a South Korea had a set of straight shaving maxims that I found quite helpful when I was getting started. We used to joke and quote from the 4 Maxims from the “Book of Keith”:

    1) If a spouse, child or pet may bursteth into thy shave den mid shave thou shalt then putteth down thy straight and picketh up thy safety razor.

    2) If thou art in a hurry or a rusheth or late then putteth down thy straight and picketh up thy safety razor.

    3) If thou art not focused or just don't 'feeleth it' then putteth down thy straight and picketh up thy safety razor.

    4) If thy razor tuggeth or pulleth or doth not feeleth sharp then putteth down thy straight and picketh up thy safety razor.

  13. There was no change, Joe! Guess I wasn’t clear. I usually shave the mug before the noggin. For the last two shaves I just changed the order.

  14. When I use safety razors. I just use my dominant right hand and the non pressure is the same regardless of the location. Realistically, the only way we can see why you sometimes have trouble is to see a video of your shave from start to finish.

  15. Lol! All true. He was also responsible for me having wanderlust and getting into shaving with "hatchets".

Thanks for bringing us along on your straight journey. I have been doing two things since December with all of my shaves that have helped a great deal:

    1. I have been shaving the same hand/same side. It did not take long at all for the non-dominant hand to feel not awkward, and now it feels quite natural.

    2. I have been employing skin stretching on all shaves. The awkwardness of it may have lessened the non-dominant hand awkwardness.

At this point, I can't imagine shaving any other way.

  18. I am glad that I was able to help you be a better shaver Eric.
  19. Perfetct! Thanks for this!!
  20. I suppose you're right. But my bathroom is too small to set up a video, never mind DO it. I might try a "one-hand shave" like you say. Gunna take some getting used to.
