Fabulous shave on all counts Jeff. You know, if you ever want to reduce the den and part with one of those Shake Sharps let me know.

Well gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to a new to the den straight razor. The Genco Getico 5/8ths , produced in Bradford, PA arrived in the mail yesterday.

I decided to bust our the DG/CL Nefertiti, which I have you used in many months. The reason for it’s rare usage is two fold. First, this combination is no longer available from the artisan. Second, it sits in a bin on a shelf in my closet as the cabinet I have stored my soaps was over flowing. I have gradually reduced the number in the cabinet as a result of my NB since June of 2020.

On to the shave. I did my usual three pass shave. The synthetic brush whipped up glorious amours on lather from a small almond sized scoop from the tub. I do not dip a wet brush into the tub. The only time a wet brush touches the sop is if the soap has been placed in the mug. I know, my little quirks.

The razor delivered, as expected from any Genco razor, a Uber close shave. I did manage three weepers, chalk it up to learning the nuances of a new razor, two on the chin and one on the right sideburn. Sorry Paul, @Paul Turner, I do not have any plant nations or animalistic roadways. :happy088:

My face feel is totally smooth and received the SWMBO SOA, take that Joe, @Primotenore. No copyright infringement as a result of absenteeism.

I hope you all have a fabulous day.

Strange shave this morning-didn't begin that well, but ended up fine. Here are the details:

The Jayaruh helped with a good loading effort. Great work along the cheeks(yes, the tricky right one, too!)and sideburns. Trouble at Porcupine Alley, with one cut up North, two down South. All this was during the first pass, meaning for the balance of the shave (I did 2 passes) I had to STARE at what happened. Very good down at Cactus. But then things got better(talkinabout Porcupine's cuts). The cold-water rinse, and the application of the Bill Neumann Heartwood (Wm. Neumann&Co). reduced the cuts to just about nothing. That's the "skin-food" strength of Bill Neumann. There was no actual pain to begin with, just the red ugliness. . All in all, I'll say it was Pretty Excellent. That closed out the Stoylin Sheep/Bill Neumann Heartwood, but there's more Bill Neumann coming right up.

They are a gorgeous, razor, Gary! The VB2 is the only luxury model Henry Gaisman ever authorized in the Autostrop line. Congratulations, buddy, looks like you scored a beautiful example! Given your recent focus on cased models, I assume you have the accompanying case as well! Is it the Canadian or the US version.

Thanks, but sorry, Joe; I have only one example of each of the three models they made. I PIF’d Joe his model before you arrived on the thread. They sometimes show up on the big auction site.

Fabulous Genco shave, Joe! Congratulations on the new razor! Weeps happen in this hobby, particularly with a new tool! I’m sure your scale-making tools are improving every day! Take care!

Congrats on picking up the Genco, Joe. Bradford, PA has a rich history of cutlery making. That's where Case knives are made as well

    I miss @Primotenore's yodeling too. :D

Thank you Jeff....Course the beginning was rough, but I had confidence that the Bill Neumann would help out in the end.

As I said earlier, the guy who runs a Clubman website owns a cutlery shop. Cutlery and Clubman......nice combination of products!!!

Makes perfect sense, Paul. Clubman is ideal for rust-stripping on carbon steel. ;)
