    Thanks for mentioning me and my MWF woes. Did you leave the lid off after putting the drops of water on, then showering? Wow, 2-3 minute load.

    Aaaand a much better shave this morning-I could SEE what was on my face for me to shave! (sorry MWF, I'll figure you out someday). Phoenix allows the brush to be a "soap-magnet". (Course I suppose others do, too). I had to study the jar for a minute before "digging in", as there's hardly anything left at the bottom; it's all along the perimiter. But I got a real nice shave. Nice work along the cheeks-had to spend a little extra time on the right sideburn. One cut, no Knicks. The cut was on North Porcupine. It was a big one, but it didn't increase in size during the shave, as have others. South Porcupine looks good. Very pleased with the result at Cactus Nation. Solid application of the Clubman Special Reserve A.S. The cold-water rinse helped shrink the cut, but it's still there. I'll wash it again later. Ready to face the day. Very Excellent.

    Thanks Gary-well, mine was "a little bit awesome", but I see how you balanced that with the shaves of the others.

    @Paul Turner

    I awoke abruptly at 0300 in a cold sweat, sat bolt upright in bed, and was sure some important task had gone undone. At once, I remembered that I must pass along urgent, time-critical information to my 30DC brother, Paul.

    Better check and see what I'm talkin' about. :cool:

    Saturday Morning Luxury Shave

    Razor: Yates Precision Manufacturing 921M/H
    Blade: Silver Star Duridium Processed
    Soap: TOBS Sandalwood cream

    To give “the rest of the story” from Thursday night’s description of the blade as ornery, an hour after the shave I noticed that my skin was extremely smooth and in no way felt irritated. As rough and ornery as that darn blade was, it actually gave a darn fine shave.

    IMG_20220212_091742870.jpg
    For the Saturday Morning Luxury Shave I loaded the blade in my very favorite razor, the Yates Precision 921 (M plate for the face, H plate for the dome). Knowing what to expect regarding blade feel, I rate my comfort level slightly above the first two shaves. However, even the Yates could not fully tame the blade’s tugging nature.

    The first pass almost felt like there was more stubble than when I started. The shave required three full passes with much touching up. The chin area still had visible stubble, but it was smooth enough and I was not willing to attack it and risk injury. It is Saturday, after all.

    Amazingly, after all of those passes, the alum did not sting at all. Except for the sensitive moustache and chin areas, the blade again produced a darn fine shave. An hour after completing the shave, I am a little shocked by how smooth my skin feels, and how my skin is irritation-free.
