Thanks Joe! It's a no shave day for me today. However, I have tomorrow's shave setup before our LI 30DC chapter meeting.

    Sharp Star Blade Focus

After some challenging shaves with a Silver Star duridium process blade manufactured by the American Safety Razor in Brooklyn, NY sometime between 1949-1960, the last two days have turned to a Sharp Star blade manufactured in Russia. What a relief to use a blade that cuts rather than tugs. Comfort level greatly improved, efficiency about the same. Not BBS on neck area, but far less tugging. Here is Sunday's shave setup:

Tonight's shaves were outstanding. Minimal blade feel, highest level of comfort experienced during this focus so far. The neck is still the challenging area, but everything else is BBS. IMG_20220214_202033140.jpg

    Face Lather.
    Lather: Ingram menthol Shave cream.
Blade: Ted Pella PTFE SS. ( D6)
    Razor: Ever-Ready 1914. (US) (Brass)

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Alcolado Glacial mentholated Splash Lotion./Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

It's been a while since i last had a 'Full On' menthol themed shave, which is an invigorating wake up call for my face sensors!
The Ingram menthol cream i haven't used for a while either and forgot how little is required to produce a good amount of protective slick lather with a good punch of menthol within it.

I have mentioned before the Ever Ready vintage SE razors are a pleasure to shave with, once you've adjusted to the required shaving angle training your mind to use good shaving technique these vintage SE razor's will reward you with some sublime shaves.

Another enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report....Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Thank you Gary. The shave bowl you refer to is actually a brush scuttle. I use it to chill the lather on the brush for my iced water shaves. I fill the bottom reservoir with a few ice cube and water, place the insert on top and the lathered brush in the scuttle for a minute or so. I bowl lather the soap prior to placing in the scuttle. Following each application I reload the brush and place it in the scuttle to chill down for the next pass. Very invigorating.

Also, it work wells for hot water shave too.

    SE Shave # 241 - MICROMATIC & DARKFALL MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Open Comb
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
    Lather: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Declaration Grooming Darkfall EdT

Wonderful three pass shave this morning following the X3Bar Pull workout and hot shower. The Whipped Dog brush easily developed a thick and slick lather. The DG/CL soap is a phenomenal soap with excellent glissade. It has a great scent, unfortunately SWMBO does not like it.

Now I am set to go to this morning’s LI 30DC meeting with Joe, @Trigger. No need for Robert’s Rules of Order.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

    Shavette Shave #337
    Dovo Shavette
    Personna Hairshaper Blade (15)
    Semogue OC Super Badger Brush
    RazorRock Classic SS
    Pinaud Clubman Lilac Vegetal AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 34hrs

This morning’s shave went well. The Semogue Brush produced a nice lather for my Dovo shavette. Razorock Classic was slick for the razor to glide down my face like a downhill Olympic skier. Two passes without pickups gave me a nice, close, comfortable, bloodless, and irritation-free shave. I am meeting Joe C. today at our monthly LI 30DC meeting so I had to make sure my A+ shave game was on today. Don't want to look like I don't know how to shave a with scratches and cuts on my face and neck at our shave meeting. LOL! The alum treatment didn't give any feedback so it really was a comfortable, close shave. Applied Witch Hazel and the Veg to end the shave. Have a great day guys. I am off to see Joe for breakfast. Take care.

:signs001: Joe...It is amazing that vintage razors have stood the test of time...Because they where made to last, and not just to make a fast buck from the common people masses like the new mass-produced offerings that are manufactured just for sheer profit today...If only they could speak and tell us their shaving history. Take care, and enjoy the rest of the week.

French Apollo/Proline. Razor uses proprietary oval DE blades. Injector blade fits ok but a little rough. Clean up pass with Shake Sharp.[IMG]
