I am beginning to suspect that blades when used in a Raster tail off quicker than usual.Comfortwise the Shave OK but the finish was not as good as anticipated.

I had an excellent shave this morning with my Pat. 1898 Gem lather catcher. I've been wanting to try a wedge adapter in a lather catcher for a while. The modern blade with adapter shaved quite well in this beautiful old razor. It was a tight fit though.
The vintage Williams soap lathered quickly and abundantly with the Zenith boar brush. Aqua Velva finished off this fantastic shave.

 

SE SOTD, Fri, Feb18 2022

Razor: Yaqi V2 Excalibur AC 50mm- Mfg 2021, excellent tame mid range, small head parts, mostly a carefree shaving experience.
Blade: Schick proline P30(1) sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap: Razorock lavender- nice lavender scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm tuxedo knot Cavern lake handle, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub + excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinses after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 1 weeper =excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Schick P30 blade.

Yours has a different handle but I just used mine last week and had an excellent shave with it. It really is a great little razor, especially considering how inexpensive it is.

I'm still getting to know the Pro. This was my third use of this razor and I have had some great shaves so far. I really appreciate the weight compared to my vintage injectors but it does require a lighter touch. The Black Label blades are the best I've used so far. It's hard to go wrong with HC&C soaps. My wife compliments me every time I use this one in particular. I ended this shave with a slight amount of irritation in the usual places under my jawline but it was worth it for the completely smooth BBS result. Happy shaves!

A nice comfortable Shave, though the finish was not as close as anticipated. Though not otherwise showing it the blade performance is tailing off.

It is a different handle than Yaqi offers because I wanted a different one for this great little shaver. I get excellent shaves, depending on blade the first pass can be tuggy a little but after that the post shave feel is just great. I don't get weepers or irritation from this razor so the razor is performing well. Glade you are enjoying the shave it offers.
Best blade seems to be the feather pro and the Schick p30 is doing a good job, I get 6-7 shaves and tossed.

A very nice Shave, thanks to a great Lather it was smooth and comfortable. and considering the blade was on its Tenth outing the finish was remarkably good.
