    Razorock 400 Plissoft synthetic brush.
Lakewood Soap Company Honey Mash Soap (sample).
    Timeless shave bowl.
    Royal Copenhagen cologne.

The New Type delivered an awesome shave this morning. It feels close to the New Deluxe but a touch on the milder side.

After I took the picture this morning I noticed a tooth out of alignment....how it happened I don't know. :angry019: I'll give it a quick fix.

Hope everyone has a great day!

If you could pick just one: Tech or AS-D2?
I really like my AS-D2 but I purchased a Tech and I can't wait for it to arrive!

    Just pick one???!!

The Tech is cool because it's vintage and I enjoy collecting and using vintage razors and brushes. The Tech was a mass-produced, low-end, low-priced Gillette for the mass market. It's cool to be able to hold an artifact like that in my hand and use 60+ years after it was manufactured and sold to the original owner. How many people owned it and used it?

The AS-D2 is high-end all the way -- premium material, costly manufacturing, highest quality, high precision, fancy packaging, high price, luxury product for a well-heeled niche market.

Which shaves better for me? The AS-D2 is a smoother experience all the way around. It holds the blade better, covers the end tabs perfectly, has just the right weight, balance and size. It feels great in my hand and gives a smoother shave, no question.

By comparison, the Tech handle is too small and short, and the head is obviously mass produced, not smoothly finished, but it give a decent shave.

I get great satisfaction out of collecting and using these vintage goods. :)

Thank you Mike! Your answer really helps level set my expectations! The AS-D2 is an amazing razor. I found one on eBay in December for a really good price. I'm really happy with it. Like you though, I find the vintage razors super cool and the Tech will happily join my 195 in my rotation.

there is a few,the tech hybrid i used today is the priciest. A brit flat bottom tech is close shave wise, especially when used with a prewar cap..some would say the difference is negligible in regards to cost, but same applies to toggle vs fatboy in my mind..;):eatdrink047:
