  1. Did the "back 9" of the Razorock/Paul Sebastian combo this morning. Not as good as yesterdays, as I had a cut at Cactus Nation, thus breaking the streak of doing so well down there. This was annother of those "Boy, you're gonna need that second pass" shaves. And yet ironically it was during the second pass where I got the cut. Fine first pass, but I did need that second, as I wasn't 100% pleased. And actually, I left some astroturf near the ingrown hair area during the second (I'll get that tomorrow.) I think what happened is that getting the cut threw off my concentration for the rest of the shave. One (aforementioned)Cut, No Knicks, No Polkadots. Again, the Sebastian 4 A.S. was a nice finisher. Pretty Excellent.
  2. Super setup Danny. Have a super day!
  3. Paul, I always check my areas to see what I missed after my second pass. Afterwards, I feel where I may need to reshave and then do it if it is necessary. This way I don't leave any patches on my face and neck.
  4. You say the right things Joe....I just need to make a habit of it.

SRS # 650 Irena Manchu (Ginger’s Garden) Birthday Shave

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
    Brush: Jayaruh 381 Badger/Boar
    Lather: Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss
    Aftershave: Proraso Menthol and Eucalyptus
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Fabulous clean and close shave with the TI and the slickness of Irena’s soap. It pairs very well with the Proraso splash. The scent profile of the soap is: “A crisp, clean and cool scent with a variety of mints on a freshly fallen snow with a whisper of vanilla.”

Three passes yield a smooth face without any crimson or irritation. The alum was wonderfully silent.

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
  6. Currently I am able to only get one blade in the razor. Two blades make it very difficult to slide the cap into the locking position. I did shave my head with the one blade yesterday with phenomenal results. SWMBO was not pleased. As you know from my previous post on the subject and our conversations, she prefers a little fuzz.

  8. Wonderful cold water shave Eric. I noticed that the cold water was lukewarm when I was in Florida last week. I use a brush scuttle filled with three iced cups and water in the bottom reservoir. In the top receptacle, I let the brush soak in the chilled water until I am ready to shave. After I have whipped up the lather I place the brush and lather in the top receptacle minus the water. Wait a couple of minutes to allow the lather to cool. Lather Nirvana! After I lather my face I reload the brush with lather and place in the chilled receptacle again.

Below is a picture of my brush scuttle.

  14. First sentence was right. I just do the shave and see how it looks&feels later.
  15. Well, when I want to be better at a task, I usually write the proper sequence of steps on an index card so that it would be nearly impossible to forget the steps because it is in front of me. Eventually, it becomes a habit and then I don't need a reminder.
Maybe that's what you need to do when it comes to shaving your beard.
  16. Awesome shave Joe!

  17. Glad you got great results with the ShakeSharp Joe. It really is almost impossible to cut yourself with it. At our meeting this month, I will bring my ShakeSharp to illustrate how I load 2 blades and lock the razor.

  18. Yes I know. I don't post my headshaves and therefore there's no need for a pic. On the spur of the moment, I decided to shave my face and neck and therefore, taking a pic of my setup would not look as neat compared to one prior to the shave.
