    Good afternoon!

    Shavette Shave # 345
    Dovo Shavette
Feather Hi Stainless 1/2 DE Blade (5)
    MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 28.5 hrs

Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender us just a great performer and the scent is just awesome. It likes water and it provides a slick lather. I normally don't push a Feather 1/2 blade beyond 3 shaves, but I experimented and got 5 shaves. The other half DE is in my Parker shavette and it has 3 shaves on it. I will be pushing 5 shaves on that one and if I am successful, then it would be 10 shaves on a full Feather blade. That is something because most chuck the blade after 3 shaves.
Anyway, I got a nice 2 pass shave with pickups for a BBS shave. I didn't get any cuts or weeps, but did get slight irritation on my neck near my Adam's apple. This tells me to finally toss the blade. I got very little feedback from the alum and ended the shave with the witch hazel and matching aftershave applications. Have a great day guys!

Thanks Gary. I have used this soap many times over the last year. I have always extolled the virtues of this soap. It is my favorite lavender scent. My other lavender soap is Music City Suds Lavender and Ever and that's also a great scent. However, Music City Suds is unobtainium.

Yes, this is my favorite go-to cream, TOOBS is also good. A little makes lots of lather with this one plus, the container has more in it than others!

I too have started cold rinse of the blade and all else warm. It does make for a more comfy shave with less irritation. Makes sense to me now. A hot blade can melt skin so, it makes sense that it will cut skin easier if hot. Cold blade from now on! Somebody sent this tip to Geofatboy and he did a video on it.

Lavender Cream and my shaving buddy who watches me shave every day. He comes running when he hears me running the water to get hot water.

Nice work this morning, as I open Barbershop Week. I think I didn't squeeze out enough water from the brush, thus my face and neck didn't look as soapy as it should have. But I went ahead with the shave anyway, knowing I'd get more soap for the second pass. Good enough anyway on the first pass. In fact as I rinsed off I almost felt the 2nd pass wasn't necessary-this is the strength of Central Texas Soaps. But I did it anyway. And then, BAM....a cut due to a speedbump that just came out of nowhere. Looked scary at first, but I kept hitting it with water as I shaved. Luckily that was the only blip. As for the rest of the shave-well done over the cheeks&sideburns. Ditto jawline. Might have done a little better down at Cactus Nation. Will do better tomorrow. Great finish from my favorite A.S.-Clubman. Most Excellent.

Watch out-the cat will knock the toothpaste right into the sink, disrupting your shave :).

    Good morning, gentlemen

Shave 3/30. I felt like shaving today, so I did. The blade started to feel dull towards the end of the shave, and I got a small weeper, but cold water took care of that. Apart from that, the shave was good.

I tossed the blade and cleaned the razor after the shave.

    Have a great day!
