Hi Friends,

Here is my Wednesday Shave (06.03.2022)


Razor: Mulcuto Schrägschnitt // Blade: Personna red // Soap: La Savonniere du Moulin // Brush: Plisson Synthetic // Aftershave: Faene Xylon & Myrtle

I bought the soap the last days on a recommendation of a colleague in our German FB Group. He told me that the scent would be so good and the lather (for him) would be one of THE best out there. So i was hooked and had to buy this soap.

It came in a very unique tin (as you can see a bit on the pic). Lovely. It is a very hard puck, comparable with Saponificio Varesino or Klar.

The scent of the soap is weak but extremely nice and comfy. A light note of flowers (Florals) mixed with some honey. I would call it an all year scent.

So i tried to get it out of the tin (which has been quite tricky) and startet lathering with my damp Plisson Synthetic. 20 second was all i needed. First i thought: Big, airy bubbles…

Once brought to the face and lathered for a few swirls, the lather started to explode. It got thicker and thicker, creamier and slicker. So i added a few drops of water and kept lathering on my face. Maaan, this thing can take some water, i can tell you that…

After i had finished the lather i loaded the Mulcuto with a fresh Personna red. The first strokes were…nothing but amazing. This lather is SO cushiony, that it is a pure joy. Easily in my top 3 of the thickest, dense lathers i had so far. The lather felt so nice on my skin.

So, three passes later i had nothing but „glad skin“. No irritation or something negative. The only „downside“ if you would like to call it like this, is that my skin was getting warm after good 30 minutes. But this can be my skin and not the soap, because the last days i had stressed skin due to too much work and very less free time. I ´ll keep my eyes on it.

So far i love this soap. Highly recommended.

This is an Original Plisson Brush. As far as i am informed, all PliSOFT Knots are a clone of this knot. Because of this they all have different names. Only the Original Plisson Brush has the name „Plisson“, all other ones „Plissoft“ or something like that.

I hope i am right, if not, please correct me.

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Simple Pure Bar Soap.
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl : Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Proraso Blue Shaving Cream.
Blade: Euromax Platinum half blade. (D1)
Razor: Yaqi Katana.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Brut Attraction Totale ASL./Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

Early morning shave,

It's been a while since i last added the katana to my razor rotation The Euromax half blades isn't the most aggressive blade but is a good matched with the assertive katana making a smooth efficient duo.
A close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups comfortable shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine.

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #414 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the ISKRA Safety Razor with a PolSilver Super Iridium Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Once again my face is totally frozen from this shave and it feels great. The Glacial Strawberry Lemonade is one of the newest Glacials which Rod launched last spring and I absolutely LOVE it. The strawberry dominates the scent but you can still catch the lemony notes, the soap’s lather is so easy to work up, it’s so rich, slick, and protective, it’s less thirsty than the other Glacials, the menthol sensation hits like a ton of bricks, and the skincare is perfect. Needless to say the Prep is my favourite balm, and the Glacial Strawberry Lemonade aftershave has the same gorgeous scent as the soap and it’s a bona fide face freezer. Smoother than silk from three passes - what a brilliant shave this was!

Razor: Star Bar #4 model lather catcher- MFG 1919-20 Excellent tame mid range, well made, I get excellent shaves with this lather catcher. It might of been one of the last lather catchers Star made before going to more modern designs of ASR razors?
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Gillette Pure cream- nice mild scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Cola 22 mm synthetic- excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrubber, great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Emperor with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe Moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=Excellent shave with my STAR bar #4 L.C + a coated Gem blade.

Monday's Shave

Colibri (Hummingbird) with 1.3mm open comb plate.
Feather blade (fresh).
Yaqi two band badger brush.
Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite soap.
Timeless shave bowl.
Royal Copenhagen cologne.

No shave for Saturday or Sunday but the Colibri was smooth sailing and took care of two days growth with no problem.


Today's shave

Colibri (Hummingbird) with 1.1mm solid bar plate.
Feather blade (2).
Simpson T3 Trafalgar brush.
Simpsons shave cream.
Timeless shave bowl.
Royal Copenhagen cologne.

Great shave this morning. I really love the Colibri with a Feather.
