No shave for me today, but I splashed on some Brut before I went to pick up these: IMG_20220310_175230_263.jpg

The 110 I've had for several years though.

The soaps have good but mild scents.

    Have a great day, gents!

Nice session Paul! Was the Bay Rum produced by Stirling?

Super shave and and an unconventional combination of scents. Have a good day Joe.

Great shaves can come from low and high budget gear. It's awesome when an inexpensive shave setup provides a nice result.

Nice selection of Mühle soaps Daniel. I am not a pocket knife guy so I can't comment on it's ability and workmanship, but it does look nice.

I'll just hope that they perform well!

The Buck 110 is a good knife, heavy and solid. Very easy to sharpen. Wouldn't carry it daily though, a small swiss army knife is much more practical for my purposes.

The PAA Oud Spice was discontinued about three years ago. That being said, Douglas brought it back last Thanksgiving for a limited release.

Thank you Joe. I do not have the PAA Oud Spice splash so I figured this would be a nice combination.

    Good evening!

    Shavette Shave #348
    Parker SRB
Feather Hi Stainless 1/2 DE Blade (5)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Tabac SS
    Stirling Bay Rum AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 33 hrs

I didn't shave this morning because I was still socally acceptable and was called to sub in the HS so I didn't want to rush a shave. I decided to use Tabac because it's Thursday and haven't used it in awhile. With my Rocky brush, I made a very wet and translucent lather just to try something different. Well, I did get a nice shave, but I ended up with a superficial nick that looked like a weeper on my lower left neck and a couple of tiny weeps on both sides of my mouth. I applied alum and the styptic pen on those areas. The nick looks more like a rash than a memory line after the styptic/alum treatment. I attribute these minor mishaps to the translucent and thin lather experiment and using a Feather blade for a 5th shave. However, I have to say that I got 10 shaves off this Feather full blade. Five on this shavette and five on my Dovo makes the 10 shaves. Most people get 3 shaves on a Feather blade with 3 passes per shave totaling 9 passes. I get 20 passes with 10 shaves which is equivalent to 7 shaves using a DE safety razor. Based on the numbers, that's 4 more DE shaves above the average lifespan of a Feather blade for me. There are many factors that would account for this phenomenon. I am using a shallower angle with a shavette, then if I used DE razor and that would translate into less wear on the edge. That's just my thought on the subject. Anyway, I finished the shave with my usual routine and finished the Stirling Bay Rum aftershave. Have a good night.
