Real nice shave this morning. I came back with the Bay Rum "team", but switched the brush to the Jayaruh #59. I made sure to rinse the brush as best I could after the loading. I'd like to see more SOAP than WATER on the brush. With that being a success, I did a good job "painting" my face and neck. Very careful(slow and steady)with the razor, which resulted in a "No cut, No New Yorker(Knick), No polkadot" shave. Again, I didn't do as well as I'd hoped down at Cactus Nation(neck). I'll do better tomorrow(yeah, I know, I said that yesterday). Was OK, though. Super Duper Excellent.

Happy Friday gentlemen. Let me say this from the outset, thank goodness for the Drew Dick razor otherwise this shave would have been a total bust.

I decided to use a soap that I have not used in over three years. It just acted as a place holder In the den for that period of time. I had won it in a raffle on one of the forums I belonged to at the time. The scent is nice which is described as follows: “A unique blend of sandalwood, neroli, ozone, forest grass, fir needle and cedarwood.”

The main reason that the soap has had an almost none existent presence in my den was due to the poor lather it produced. Previously and with the first pass today the lather did it’s best imitation of Casper the Friendly Ghost, lathering well in the bowl but disappearing in a nano second when applied to the face.

For the second and third pass, I was hoping to get the next two with better results, I change tactics. I reloaded the brush from the tub for each and applied using paint brush strokes to my face. Miraculously the lather held up. For the third pass I even squeegeed the soap off of the brush reloaded and applied to the face following a multi-second load on the brush.
The jury is still out on this soap. I will give it a go again in the near future. However, if it continues to require this much effort to get a lather, that really is not overly slick, then it may be PIF’d or Edmund Fitzgerald. I may not want to subject any of my shaving peers to a PIF. Time will tell.

The razor salvaged this shave. My face is smooth and refreshed. The Stone Field Shave Co. balm is nice.

I hope you all have a great day.

Terrific shave and setup Daniel. I remember the classic Brut way back in my younger days. I liked it a lot, but I haven't tried the new stuff. Take care.

Nice shave Joe. I don't like to work very hard to lather my soaps. You may have to bowl lather it with an addition of glycerin.

I think I'll have it a lot longer....it's nice that the center of it is reducing in soap, but then there are the sides to deal with. After all, 7 oz. is just that.
