    Shavette Shave #349
    Parker SRB
    Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (1)
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    Shannon's The Warrior SS
Stirling Blood on Steel LE 2019 30DC (Tsuka)
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 37 hrs

It's a dreary Long Island day so I wanted to have a nice setup to lift my spirits.
I know that most of my shaves last month and this month have been shavette shaves, but I needed to get to the same totals as my straight razor shaves when I hit a milestone. This is my 698th open blade shave and need 2 more (1 straight and 1 shavette) shaves for 700.

Let's get on with the show. Evan's Tuxedo Brush has a nice backbone to really help with loading a pasty sample of Shannon's The Warrior Soap. It is a thirsty soap, but the result is a creamy, low volume, and slick lather.

The shave went well. The Rockwell blade is smooth and sharp, but obviously it isn't Feather sharp. I like these blades, but I have about 7 left and probably won't repurchase them because they are 15 dollars for 100 and there are blades that are equivalent for less.
Two and a half passes gave me a BBS shave without any drama.
Finished the post shave in the usual manner and ending with the glorious aftershave. Have a nice day!

  7. Well that's fine that you do that Joe(Aisle 12), but I just hope they SAY that they like what I'm wearing....not just look and smile(or worse-STARE)Course that lady from a year or so ago didn't have to say anything-she just dove right in.

  8. :signs001: Joe...The Dorco Prime Platinum are wonderfully smooth forgiving blades, and i assume would pair together with your Shavettes excellently...Take care Joe, and enjoy your day.
  9. Upstate NY. It's my Mickey Mouse spoon! I found it in my silverware drawer after the ex left. She collected Disney crap! So, I put Mickey to work measuring the shaving cream. He needs to earn his keep!

  10. I believe he is referring to an artisan that no longer makes soaps.
  11. Thanks for the tip Barry. I may check into it, but I have about 100 blades from approximately 10 different brands gifted to me from a former Canadian 30DC member. He is a great guy, but his significant other likes him with a beard so he bowed out of here.

  12. Yes, you even called Barry, Danny. Me thinks you need a double dose of strong coffee. Lol!

  14. Boy, I hope that never happens to me.....I get a siggy other who says I should grow a beard or she'll never see me again.

  15. Saturday Morning Luxury Shave
    Cold Water & SR Edition

Although the composition of the photo is terrible, this morning's shave was a happy milestone. I feel mentally prepared enough to commit to straight edge shaving, starting with the Feather.

My first experiences with the Feather weeks ago were terrible. Even with a very light touch, there was no glide; the blade skipped horribly as if bouncing over a gravel road. I believe my sensitive skin reacts badly to hot water. As I have been doing all month, I used only cold water for glycerine soap face prewash, then applied Proraso red. The blade slid easily as I removed the lather, and there was even stubble coming along with it! I succeeded with a single pass over cheeks and neck with no nicks. Finished things up on the face and then the dome with the ever-stylish Schick J.

    Have a great Saturday y'all.

  16. Very nice shave this morning. My Tallow&&Steel soap(PIFed to me by Joseph-among other products)did a great job for me. I hereby proclaim it to be the Most Underrated Soap I Have Ever Owned. Looking at it before I began the shave, it just looked SAD to me. But there it was, and I figured I'd go ahead with it. It really teamed up well with the Clubman-Pinaud brush. Cheeks&sideburns, no problem. I missed the right side of North Porcupine Alley, so after the shave I just went at it with warm water and it felt better. South was good DURING the shave, no need for a re-do. Better at Cactus Nation than the previous two shaves. A little too much aftershave came out so I had to just work with it all. Will have to be more careful tomorrow. But as for today-Outta This World Excellent.

  17. Excellent shave Eric. You are a brave man using a Feather in a shavette with very little straight shaving experience. Way to go by jumping into the far end of the pool. I would have gone with a lesser aggressive blade. Looking forward to your straight razor journey. Have a great day!

  19. Thank you Joe....and with an underrated soap to boot. :) Actually, it isn't on their soap line anymore, so I'm grandfathering the thing.

  20. That's the problem with having to much of a variety, you don't have enough time to appreciate or use them up....Especially in your case, if you where use them with your shavettes, that'll be 200 Shaves!:shocked029: wow.
