ASRazor shave, March 15th 2022

Razor: Gem Junior 1912 with baton handle-Mfg 1943 variant, very nice mid range and the baton tapered handle is exceptional to work the face, one of the best SE razors ever built and not sure why this type of handle is not made today, self standing also. Gem made millions of 1912 model variants over the decades.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(4) very sharp, easy to install and remove, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock XXX- nice fresh scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 22 mm Sagrada Familia 2 band badger, not a lather hog, one of my favorites, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice scrubber + excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock XXX AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers =excellent shave with my Gem Junior baton handle with a Gem coated blade.

I typically think of injector razors as being too harsh. But I wondered if it was just my technique, so I went back and read some of the posts in the shave school section about single edge razors. Today I went slow, in short strokes, and concentrated on NO pressure. What a difference! Comfortable shave. I will spend more time focusing on the basics of technique.

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #217 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Damaskeene Frankenrazor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with English Leather AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Bleu de Chanel Parfum

This Sanga Symphony is one of the nicest soaps from Jaco who IMHO is a soap genius. This stuff is tallow based, it’s such a pleasure to lather, the scent is soapy, old school with an exotic note, and the skincare is excellent. The Fino balm is unscented, and it’s so soothing as well as moisturizing, and the Max Disinfecting aftershave from Bulgaria stings like hell for a second but then it feels so comfortable, it smells great but it doesn’t disrupt the gorgeous fragrance of the Bleu de Chanel. The new 7 AM blade helped ensure a perfect three pass BBS shave!

Today is the one month anniversary! It was one month ago today that I adopted the New Deluxe from an antique store in Sweetwater, Tennessee. The New Deluxe has made an excellent addition to the den and is a sweet shaver. Three nice passes this morning. I'm still amazed at how well a 90 year old razor shaves. Gillette had this thing figured out years ago.
