Was real glad to shave this morning, as the water is good and healthy again. The conclusion of the shave was -TOO MUCH PRESSURE IN TOO MANY PLACES. 1 cut, 3 Knicks and no polkadots. Perhaps it was the "thrill" of shaving again after yesterday's water main break. I thought I had "painted" my face and neck with enough soap so as to prevent anything bad happening. But I'm not blaming the soap(or lack thereof, perhaps)....it was my careless tacticts. You can't spend a shave shouting "Yippee, I can shave again!" That is roughly what I did. The Central Texas "Week-end Rodeo" soap is getting to the bottom-a good sign. Good shave except for the above-mentioned 4 "problems". 2 passes. The A.S. presented a challenge, as the pour spout broke, leaving the large exit hole..must be careful to avoid Niagra Falls. I wasn't too careful today. Now that things are back to normal on the H20 persuasion of things, I need to calm down, take a step back, and shave the way I know I can. I must be honest on the grade-A Little Bit Excellent.

    Saturday Morning Luxury Shave

Razor: Tatara Muramasa Adjustable (on loan)
    Blade: Nacet
    Brush: Simpsons Trafalgar 3
Soap & A/S: Barrister & Mann Bay Rum

Happy Saturday TSD friends. I am generally an evening shaver, and have a hard time getting motivated to take pictures and post before bed. As for this month's focus, I am continuing cold water shaving, and I believe it will be the norm for me. I have also been using the Feather DX for one pass every day, but do not feel like I am making much progress in efficiency.

This week, I have the extreme good fortune to try the Tatara Muramasa on a pass-around. The Muramasa is beautiful in design and surprisingly efficient in use. I decided to begin right in the middle on setting 3. The first pass felt mild and comfortable with no blade feel at all. I was amazed at how smooth my face already felt. I left it on setting 3 for XTG pass two, and was a little disappointed that the shave was complete! I needed one very small touch-up on the neck, but lathered up for a full pass anyway as the razor felt so comfortable.

I dialed up to level 5 for the dome shave, where my best razors get the job done in 2 passes. The Muramasa was no exception, again providing superior efficiency after the first pass.

    Good Morning.

    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Cella SS
    Old Spice AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 35.5 hrs

Had a great shave this morning. Everything fell into place. I decided to use my Barbury brush. It's a very inexpensive synthetic brush with a nice backbone. I bought it at Sally's Beauty Shop for a little over 7 dollars. It really is a great performer. Cella is just a great soap. I got a nice, slick creamy lather and that is what I expect from it. Two passes without pickups, bloodshed or irritation gave me a nice, close, and comfortable near BBS shave. The alum gave negligible feedback. Witch hazel and Old Spice aftershave ended this shave. My skin looks and feels great. Have a great Saturday!

I understand being excited about getting your water returned to you Paul, but just don't shave when you're too excited. Tomorrow's another shave day. Enjoy your day.

Great shave Eric. The Muramasa is a top tier razor and have heard good things about it. As far as shavette shaving, you are doing fine. The, it takes 100 shaves to be competent shaving with one. It's a skill that requires practice, practice, and practice. Use it every day and you will get there. You will be fine. Enjoy your day.

:signs001: Joe. I have mentioned to you before i also live in a hard water area, which i find i can get a lather to the consistency i prefer....Starting off with a damp 'not wet' brush works best mixing up a medium to thick paste, then adding water to the tips of the brush when face or bowl lathering...I use the same method when i use Williams Mug shaving soap..I will be frank and say i don't get a 'Full on Santa Claus Beard lather' from both soap's it's more protective and slick, however, the post shave feel that i get from both soap's make's up for the extra time & patience...Enjoy your day.

Reevaluate. You have the same water as I do. I have no problems whipping up a nice Fat lather.

I guess I am choosing to do a Fst shave tomorrow.

Superb Saturday morning shave which was preceded by the final X3Bar workout of the week. Yes, six days on, one day of rest. The shoulder is loving it. Not just to dial I. The diet a little more.

Three pass have my face feeling nice and smooth. Just in time to do another round of painting. Wooo Whooo!

Since I am giving myself a day of tomorrow from the X3Bar, perhaps I should do the same in regards to the painting. Yes, I have the dining room to do as well.

    Have a great day gentlemen.
