Another fine day of painting is on the docket. However, not to worry I started my day as I have every weekday morning since I received the okay from the doctor to resume my X3Bar workouts. Once my son gets on the school I proceed with the workout followed by a nice hot shower and glorious iced water shave.

I decided to go with the injector for today’s shave. The Type J is a sweet looking razor that gives a comfortable three pass shave. My face was left smooth and irritation free as per the alum report.

I find the Glacial splash chilling but not overly so. It is definitely not on par with the likes of Cryogen.

Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Sea Salt & Fennel Extract 2 in1 Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Simple Pure Bar Soap.
Brush: Fine 24mm Synthetic.
Face Lather.
Lather: HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap. (no.3)
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum. (D3)
Razor: 1960's Gillette Slim Twist.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./P&G Old Spice Bearglove ASL Spray./Wilko Men's Moisturiser.

Early Morning Shave,

Last outing of the Dorco Prime Platinum which which has performed wonderfully with each shave. Today yet again, was no exception....This is my favourite blade from the Dorco camp.
The 1960's slim twist was my first vintage Gillette DE razor which was kindly passed on to me by a friend of the family when i first started de shaving. I've said this on many occasions, it still amazes me that 50 year + vintage razor can still shave so smoothly.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.

Today's shave. Lather & Wood Shaving Co's Sandalwood shave soap. Pre-shave is Proraso Red, Sandalwood. Razor used is my Muhle R89 Twist with a Wilkinson blade. When I want a no nonsense shave, I reach for my Muhle R89. Whipped in my lather bowl with my stiff Simpson brush. After-shave face balm is Edwin Jaggar Sandalwood scent. I always go over my face with an alum bar wet under cold water. This will tell me if I got too close in some areas. Today, I did good with no razor burn. My shave buddy supervised.

This soap lathered nicely. I started in the lather bowl and then used my stiff Simpson brush to build more on my face. Face lathering is so nice!

 

Fine shave Barry. Gillette made great razors back then. Have an awesome day!
