What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Love those green box elder scales Tom.

Persistence pays off gentlemen, it shaves ! And pretty well too, though I think that the edge could be a bit smoother, but I’m 98% there. I’m going to re-hone it and use the Sharpie to try and see if that corner work on the stones improved the depression on the omote side. Maybe a little?

Soap was La Toja since it’s a fine soap for testing edges and was still out, as was the Myrsol K. Lathering honors were done with a SOC Finest Badger.

 

TI did a nice job with these… should have used this set for St. Paddies.

Glad the work paid off with that blade.

Nice razor Tom! However isn’t it easy to cut yourself with that quite sharp edge at the toe?

It probably is, but I find when the point is this pronounced, you stay alert.

But I am also the guy that cuts himself more with a safety razor.

 

Same here actually, I have stopped using the Feather blades for the safety razor. Not that often I use the safety razor unless I am in a hurry.

6/8 Manaslu M500 Yasuki Steel, soap was SMN lathered with a lime Paladin Chief, and the AS was Floris Elite.

 

Wonderful shave with the Tamahagane steel. Three days of stubble were no match. This is a fabulous razor

Yesterday 6/8 CVH No 130, Dior Eau Sauvage software and a Semougue Mistura brush did the lathering.

Today, Leon Pelleray, Paris, cream and AS (lavande) were SMN and a SOC Mistura did the lathering.
