I think what happened is I must not have looked at ALL of them and ALL prices. I did notice the Bay Rum. I'll review my search and contact them if necessary. You're quite familiar with these companies, I see(Hendricks, Don at Wet The Face, Chris Bailey..and of course Doc Ezlovan). Hendricks does sound like a nice fellow.

I found a new shaving cream from TOOBS and tried it for the first time this morning. It really does smell like roses! TOOBS "Herbal Pre-Shave Gel" (It's herbal, Herb!)Muhle R89 Twist with a Wilkinson blade second use. New brush is a synthetic by Simpson, the "Trafalgar" large brush. It has soft tips but really good backbone. Will be a good face lathering brush if I choose. Finished off with Proraso balm.

VERY nice shave! TOOBS is always good for lather. This scent is one of my favs. I used to grow roses when I lived in Minnesota but, here in upstate NY, bugs eat them up so no more...

:signs001: Joe...I am also near the bottom of the container of the Sandalwood.. I agree, both the Proraso Soaps & shaving creams and AS splashes are excellent, which will always be a firm favourite of mine...:love055:

Thanks for the compliment Paul. Don Youngner of WTF is from Huntington, LI which is about 30 miles west of me. I like to be well informed of the vendors, youtubers, etc. because I can keep up with the latest info in the wet shaving community. As they say, knowledge is power.

Excellent shave, pic and post Hogie! You have harsh winters in upstate NY. I live on Long Island and I shouldn't complain about winter weather in my area.

    Good afternoon!

    Pinaud Clubman Classic AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 27 hrs

This is the 1st of 8 committed shaves using Arko and an adjustable razor.
I like Arko a lot. It gives a nice, slick lather and the scent is fine with me because it has mellowed into an Ivory Soap fragrance. Honestly, I liked the initial citronella scent that some shavers can't enjoy. Anyway, I did a two pass shave that was BBS and error-free. Although I prefer straight/shavettes, safety razors have their place because they give quick and easy comfortable shaves with minimum effort. So, if I am crunched for time or just lazy, then safety razors are the ticket.

The alum gave me some nice feedback. Applied the witch hazel to tone down my skin. Finally, it's been many months since I have used Pinaud Clubman Classic aftershave. I broke open a new bottle and I was in heaven when I splashed it on my face and neck. For me, that's the way to end a shave. Have a nice afternoon!

    SRS # 670 - SAMPLE SUNDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Double Duck Goldedge
Brush: Shore Shave Player 26 mm
    Lather: Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood
Aftershave: Derby City Chop Shop Small Batch Tonic- Winter Reserve
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Fabulous Double Duck shave this morning. As a matter of fact, this blade may have given me one of the closest shaves with a straight to date. I always manage great shaves with this razor.

I decided to go with the warmth of the Vanilla Sandalwood/Small Batch pairing for this somewhat dreary and damp day on LI. A superb three pass shave without any issues. Looking and smelling g good for a day with athe family. You can not ask for anything better.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Is your R41 the 3011 version or the later 2013 model?. Mine is the later.
