I see you used a Kai blade in your Henson, How did it perform for your shave?

Razor : Everready 1924(AKA Shovel head)- excellent mid range, different way of loading a blade from the back, feels good in the hand with my ER Streamline strop handle, excellent audio feed back. Excellent shave this morning.
Blade :Gem Personna SS PTFE(10) excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap :Gillette Pure cream, makes excellent ubber lather, nice scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi 24mm tuxedo knot, black marble handle- excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, great scrub + excellent painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel cleanse +Nivea refreshing AS + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Everready 1924 with a coated Gem blade.

This was my first time with the soap. It certainly lathered up well and gave me a comfortable shave. It takes a few times with a new soap to get to know it, so I will use it several days.

 

Ron I really liked it. What I found was fewer touchups were needed. Kai blades are quite expensive so my one and done blade approach isn't applicable with this blade so I will use the same blade tomorrow and compare.
I've been told that due to the thickness of this particular blade, It makes the Mild shave very similar to the Medium. This will help me make a decision on whether to purchase the medium.

You might not have to buy a mid range possibly if the blade is all the difference that brings you to mid range. The Kai blade is pricier but you will find it last a lot longer than other DE blades by a lot IMO. I always recommend to buy a few tucks for milder razors, I get 10 good shaves from one blade and have used 2 tucks already in my mild razors and really enjoy them. The Kai blade is 9/1000 of a inch wider or 4.5/1000 per side than a standard Gillette Astra SP blade. As you already know it has given a nice boost in your mild Henson, Why Kai made a wider blade is has something to do with marketing in Japan to compete with Feather and there mild razors is all I can think of.

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #398 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the ER 1924 Shovelhead Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

If you guys only knew how frigid this Frosted Lavender soap and aftershave are or how gorgeous they smell you’d freak out. The soap’s tallow formula gives the lather such great thickness, denseness, and slickness, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is perfect. The Thayer’s Lavender witch hazel has almost no scent but it’s so soothing and comfortable, the Prep leaves my skin feeling born again, and the Frosted Lavender aftershave is also witch hazel based and the freeze from it lasts for a long time, not to mention how beautiful the scent is. What a brilliant three pass BBS shave this was - a special thanks to my dear friend Fernando for introducing me to such magnificent products!

Another smooth three pass shave with the OSS. First with the open comb side and the last two with the solid bar. This head really is smooth and has moved to the top tier shelf in the den real quick.
