There were several new things in this shave. These were the Tube 2.0, the brush, and the SE shave setting. I haven't been interested in trying the gigantic cube but the Tube is the perfect vehicle for getting their preshave onto my face. The brush is something I have wanted since I started wet shaving and it didn't disappoint. The SE shave setting did a great job of protecting my skin from the blade. There was no time during the shave that it felt like I could have cut myself which is exactly the point. The only negative aspect is needing to do quite a bit of work with pickups to get a smooth shave. It didn't cause irritation so not a big deal.

This was only a DFS shave, despite spending a good bit of time on pickups. The good part is that I didn't get Irritation. I'll say 8.5/10. Happy shaves all!

The ARKO Extra Performance Shave Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #398 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Pushbutton Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Friday morning:

    Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Shark day 10
    MSC Dark Blue SS
    Fino ASB
    MSC Dark Blue AS Splash

Fernando’s soaps and aftershaves are South African diamonds - his Dark Blue has a gorgeous scent that’s an exact copy of Hugo Boss Dark Blue, the soap is tallow based, the lather works up so thick, rich, as well as mega slick and protective, not to mention how great the skincare is. The Fino balm is unscented, it’s so moisturizing and soothing, while the Dark Blue aftershave has the same magnificent scent as the soap, and because it’s witch hazel based there’s no burning or stinging from it. My trusty 1950s Super Speed always lets me shave fast if necessary without any issues - today’s shave was ultra BBS and comfortable!

Have a great weekend - be well and safe!

Razor : Yaqi Beast 2 variant- assembled 2022> excellent upper mid range, good blade feel, inexpensive and works well, not the most beauteous razor to look at but will out perform a lot of razors + great sizzling audio feed back is awesome. One side is tamer than the other because of the Yaqi flipside(dual) base plate having 2 different configurations on the safety bar. Excellent shave today!
Blade : Gillette 7oClock SP(4) excellent blade, sharp & smoooth.
Soap :Tabac, light flowery scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi 24mm boar bristle, excellent lather generator, soft split end bristles, nice scrubber + excellent painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock American barber with aftershave + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] excellent shave with my Yaqi Beast 2 with a 7oClock black.

I haven't used this razor since last year. I remembered getting a couple good shaves with it back then so I expected the same today. I wasn't disappointed. This is an aggressive/efficient razor for sure and that's not a bad thing. It turns out that I prefer stainless versions of blades, at least on the first use. I wonder if other people have experienced the same thing (liking stainless versions of platinum blades).

The Frank Shaving brush is an excellent little face latherer. The splay is huge and the handle is short and thick, which I have come to realize is an advantage for face lathering. Stirling's Sheep is super slick and thick, almost to a fault. It takes a ton of water. I should have loaded the brush then used a bowl to hydrate the soap before bringing it to the face.

I ended up with a BBS shave. I'll say 9.6/10 with points deducted for a small nick and some irritation on my neck. Here's hoping that you are having a great day!

    Friday Shave

Soap: DentonMajik Unscented Game Changer Base
    Brush: restored Ever Ready
    Razor: RazoRock Mamba
    Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium
    After: CeraVe cream

This is my second shave with the DentonMajik sample given to me by Mark Denton. This soap is very soft. I scooped it out of the sample jar and pressed it into a normal size soap container. Loaded up easily and made a very thick creamy lather when I worked enough water into it. The shave was very smooth and close. My face feels great. This is clearly an excellent performing soap. :happy088:
