Shave 24/30. A pleasant shave without any issues. Close and comfortable.
I was tempted to shave with the Grapefruit cream, but managed to resist.

    Have a great day, gentlemen!

A Feather blade is the perfect combination with my 1956 Gillette Super Speed Flaretip razor! Gentle 3-pass shave. I did have to work harder along the jawline to get as close as I wanted. But, it's a nice almost effortless shave. Just a tad bit of burn along jawline but no cuts/nicks/leakers.
This was the third use of the Feather blade.

Great shave and a nice razor!

I have a 1957, first quarter. Not in as good condition as yours though. I like to use Bic blades in mine. Feathers are good too.

    SOTD MONDAY MORNING , April 10, 2022

Woke up to another beautiful, sunny day here in the Philly burbs. I just had to grab the Manhattan Cutlery 13/16 lovingly restored by David Work for this morning’s mug shave! Just a beautiful one hundred seventy year old Sheffield straight razor I feel honored to be the caretaker for.

All of us who have fallen down this rabbit hole think about the generations of hands these old vintage shaving tools have passed through. This morning’s mug shave was by the numbers. Two and a half passes left my face oh-so-smooth.

I’m also an avowed SE safety razor fanboy. Injectors are my preferred SE, despite my half century with a very well-used Schick Krona DE. Colonel Schick’s magazine repeating razors check all the boxes for me. And when I began shaving with the initial Speed Razor and the later Speed Shavers I was sold on this design. Durham Enders tricolor handled Speed Shavers marked the end of a thirty some odd year run for these terrific shavers and another rabbit hole for me.

My friend, Jeff (@jmudrick) had been after me for several years about the quality shave these little safety razors delivered! Because of the proprietary blades that ceased manufacture in the early 1950’s, many of these razors sat unused as display queens. That is until Jeff worked out the blade hack using a de-edged Enders blade as a shim for a Schick B-20 Proline injector blade. The only injector blade that fits.

Because of the popularity of these little razors over the last few years following the hack, an adapter for the Schick Proline B-20 was recently developed, doing away with the need for a shim. The shave these repurposed little safety razors deliver is second to none. It is the only safety razor that compares favorably to my Shake Sharps, and delivers every bit as good a shave. Two ATG dome passes left me porcelain smooth from neck to noggin.

RAZOR: Manhattan Cutlery 13/16 (Mug), Red Handled Durham Enders Speed Shaver (Dome)
    BLADE: Schick Proline B-20 Injector
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: West Coast Shaving Badger
    SOAP: PAA Coconut Bay
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by PAA Coconut Bay Splash

I have 2 SS Flares. The other is a 1954 3rd quarter (Z3). I may switch to the Slim tomorrow. I am feeling like it's a Gillette week. The '56 (left) is in the best shape (like new) and I paid $65 for it. I paid $29 for the '54

Nice! I'll have to squeeze in a Gillette shave or two this month, after I'm done with my focus.

Great shave, Hoagie! They’re decent razors, particularly with a Feather! I have the British version of that razor in gold! The called them Rockets. Good solid blade holders!

Real good shave this morning. That "left to right" swirling action with my brush in the soap feels better than before. No wonder I'm so baffled by the speed with which vids do that....they must use their strong hand. This might go down as a "rubber stamp" description as from yesterday's shave. I just fee l better about today's, mainly due to the swirling action. Course that only PREPARES for the shave. Phoenix is right up there with other soaps in terms of getting a clean, fresh, feel onto the face, thus easing the shave process all the more. No issues on the cheeks&sideburns. North and South Porcupine went real well. Slight problems alongside the right jawline and around the Ingrown Swamp, but nothing to be upset about. Besides, my errors tell me where to focus on for the next day's shave. No Cuts, Knicks, or Polka-dots. Clubman Special Reserve calmed down whatever tightness I was feeling. Course it smells great, too. Swiss Arabian Mutamayez cologne to finish things off. Serious masculinity in that Mutamayez!Outta This World Excellent.

He said "new" Clubman...wonder which one he was referring to. Or was this his first try with Doc Pinaud's masterpiece.

Thanks, Jeff! The Game Changer is a great razor. Good amount of weight and lots of blade feel, but it's still a smooth shaver.
