  3. The new razor came! It is lighter than I expected. I have it laid out loaded with a Feather blade (4th use) for tomorrow morning. Impressive! Will post pic of the full shave tomorrow. DSCN5369.JPG
  4. Looking forward to reading your shave report!

I guess you could fill the handle with something if you'd like a little bit more weight.

  5. Or I could use one of my other handles. I will try it as it came first.

  6. The threads are non-standard, so that probably wouldn't work. :(

I had been shaving with the somewhat heavy Game Changer for months before and the lack of weight didn't bother me.

Hopefully you will get used to it!

  7. It really isn't too bad. It does seem well balanced so, why mess with it? I already put the blade in and did a short "test" on my cheek. It's going to be a nice shave!

    Good evening!

    Rockwell Model T (setting 6)
Gillette Winner DE Blade ( fresh blade )
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    Arko SS
    Stirling Spice Aftershave
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 29 hrs

This is my 6th Arko/Adjustable shave and only need 2 more to finish my commitment this month. The setup is the same as yesterday’s shave, except for the brush, the razor on the max setting and a new blade.
I just have to say I like Arko soap. The lather may not be voluminous, but it is slick.
Evan's tuxedo brush has a nice backbone that is great for facelathering. It never disappoints me in making an easy lather regardless of the soap.
I did a 2 pass shave and didn't need any pickups. BBS was easily achievable. It was the very first time that I used a Gillette Winner blade and I am very impressed on the smoothness of the blade. To be honest, it felt like I wasn't cutting my stubble. It was a very nice experience. I am looking forward to using these blades in my shavettes. Anyway, did my usual postshave routine and finished with the Stirling Spice aftershave. I am amazed at this shave. Has anyone tried Gillette Winner blades? If so, did you have the same experience as I? Take care.

  14. I found a more recent picture for my avatar. I don't take pics of myself! Before the world changed, I played old country music with a couple older guys. Bill (on the left) died last August (he was 83) and Roger is so scared now, he refuses to play indoors. My first name is Gary. Bill created our trio and put my name on it! It was nice getting paid for having fun! I still play a bit but, it isn't the same now...Bill's grand-daughter took this photo as we came off the stage at a festival in 2017. I still jam with some other friends sometimes on Saturday nights.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave.

I haven't used the clubman Pinaud soap for a while and forgot how much a great in-expensive soap this is.. This is almost 'croap-like' soap it doesn't need blooming before mixing providing a slick protective lather, in no time, i like the scent too, it's not over powering, and the post shave feel is incredibly good. What more can I say? apart from it's a great inexpensive shaving soap.

Being on a budget the vast majority of my shave set ups are very inexpensive, it just goes to show you don't need to pay extortionate prices for 'Super-Dooper' artisan shaving soaps/creams when they are plenty of perfectly good shaving products on offer that are equally as good if sometimes better at a fraction of the price.

The Club Pinaud soap is just one of many...As always it's down to individual choice what people they buy & use...YMMV.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

  20. A great shave Barry. Yes, I agree that you do not have to shave with expensive soaps to have great result. Personally, I don't go over 4 dollars an ounce. I find the more expensive soaps have more skin food that really doesn't matter to me. Now, if it is a unique scent, then I may treat myself to get it. Have a great day.
