I hate car challenges. That issue prior to going to the gym would have troubled me throughout my entire workout. Hope you are able to get it resolved soon.

In the old days, I would have been more than annoyed. Today, I just accept it as a part of life.

:signs001: Joe...I love the scent of Tabac as well. I should add it more regular to soap my rotation..I Haven't yet tried the new formula which by all accounts doesn't seem very promising...As always it's all down to cutting corners, and making profit ..Have a great day too my friend.

Fine shave, Barry! Tabac is a great soap.

Last shave with the Fatip Slant open comb. Also last use of the Astra blade. TOBES "Rose" shaving cream whipped in my bowl with Berkey Simpson brush. Proraso pre-shave cream (white). This razor is going to only be used with more aggressive blades. It tames them really well. I tried something different and grabbed my Gillette Slim with a Big Ben blade (2nd use) for my 3rd pass. I set the Slim on 9. I can see why you like this setting, Trigger! It changes the whole character of the razor! VERY nice razor on this setting. It will now be the only setting I use with that razor. Me like!

Nice close shave finished with a dab of Proraso balm and a splash of "Clubman" after shave.

I did have to fight with the cat to get use of the sink. He thinks it's a recliner...

On another note, I got caught in the rain on the bike yesterday. First soaking of the season! Now I gotta wash the bike again! I just got my leather pants cleaned up! Lots of elbow grease and leather treatment (mink oil)

IMG_20220414_153537_878.jpg Shave 27/30. Overall a nice shave, but I did manage to get a small nick when I was doing touch-ups. I decided to use the Aqua Velva, I enjoy it a lot.

Perhaps a razor with a bit less blade exposure paired with a sharper blade would be more forgiving/easier to use on some problem areas. The slant was easy to use, and the Gillettes I have are as well. I'm curious about other razors (adjustables and slants for example).

Of course technique matters the most, but occasional slip-ups do happen.

    Have a great day, gents!

Barry, I heard that the new formula is not as good, also. Companies need to stop toying with the original formulas.

Great shave and pics Hogie! Yes, setting 9 on the Slim is great for me. I sometimes go to 7, but it is rare.

Nice shave Daniel. We all shed blood from time to time, but thank goodness it is not a frequent event for most shaves.

I think the facility was shut down and that's why they had to reformulate the soap.
I'm kind of curious about the new one. Some say it's very good and others hate it. I'll probably give it a try some day.

I'm thinking if I should do the blade testing thing with two razors. For example a fresh blade in super speed, shave until performance drops, repeat with the slant and then start all over again with a different brand of blade.

    E. That could probably help me to get more familiar with the slant too.

    Opinions?
