    I know....I'm just not at a "100% soap" persuasion....yet.

Perhaps a cream could be a nice compromise if you want to head to that direction. It's slightly faster to use than soap, and can also be used brushless in a pinch. Though soaps can be used that way too, especially sticks.

But there is nothing wrong with using canned foam or gel, as long as it works!

I got the car with no engine but, it did come with a Muncie 4 speed (short throw - rock crusher) that was a fresh re-build by a good shop. It looked almost new! I found a 396 for it with truck heads. The guy I bought the engine from thought it was a 454. I checked numbers and discovered how wrong he was! It had never been bored and mic'ed at standard bore! So sad i lost that! Divorce destroys MANY things...

I totally agree with you..'If it's working, then why fix it!'...Especially a classic like Tabac!.. Pure Greed will have an adverse reaction to the profit's for it's makers. Supply and demand won't be necessary, as people will steer away from the new formula...Another classic shaving soap bites the dust.:angry017:

The new owners/company should have continued to use the tallow-base formula, rather than use cheaper ingredients....However, i haven't actually tried the new formula, but i can't see it rising above the old one.

The price would have probably increased a lot. But I believe it would still sell well even if the price were higher. A puck lasts for so long that the cost per use is pretty much nothing.

It's a fantastic splash! One of my favourites too. La Toja splash is another one I enjoy a lot.

The cost increase's each year, which isn't the issue for me Daniel, as the original Tallow-based formula i know it's everything a shaving soap should give. As for the new formula, will be a higher price, using cheaper ingredients with not so good shaving results...Don't get me wrong i actually really like some Vegan/Glycerin based shaving products..The Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Ultra-Calming Liquid Shaving Cream is absolutely fantastic.

The old one did perform wonderfully. I hope the new one is at least a decent soap, but it's always sad when stuff like this happens. Profits and so on..

I like veggie based soaps and creams usually, but some are pretty bad. Especially some rushed reformulations..

I was just looking at that cream maybe a week ago at the supermarket, but didn't buy it. Some day I probably will though.. ;)

Man, I miss my Rise Superfoam :-((. Actually, my "on-deck" shave item is "Shaving Cream In A Puck". I ordered it without thinking of the "Shaving Soaps" offered by the same company(Rocky Mtn. Barber Co).

Thanks Joe....wasn't it you who provided the explanation of why canned goo comes out like a squiggly snake?

    Yes indeed!

Yes. Eventually, the pressurized gas pushes the foam out. Eventually, the gas loses enough pressure to give you squiggly lines.
