Thanks, Gary! Le inks going to do all the heftin’ and totin’ on this job. I won’t have the benefit of professional lifts, but then again they’re not really necessary for this job!

That’s way out of my comfort zone my friend. Fortunately, my job (transmission and clutch is pretty much plug and play! Something this old retired engineer has done before!

:signs001: Jeff...The Tabac scent like Arko is a love/hate subjective thing, but as you've stated both provide a wonderful lather!

This morning I enjoyed a fabulous Birthday shave with my Birthday razor, a 1956 Gillette Super Speed Flaretip with same birthday as me! Razor was made in second quarter (A2). Fresh Feather blade. 3-pass shave left me nice and smooth! I went with Proraso across the board! Sandalwood pre-shave and shave cream. Finished with Proraso Sandalwood balm and a splash of the aftershave.

Alum bar raised no sting. No nicks, no cuts, no razor burn. This is the perfect blade for my SS Flaretip. I turned 66 today!

Tomorrow, I start the weekend using my Slim with a Feather blade and setting of 9

IMG_20220415_154546_810.jpg Shave 28/30. The blade did feel dull, but I managed to get a decent shave. I had to go over the same areas many times. No irritation though.

I used the 4711 for varietys sake. It's a nice splash, I should buy more some day.

    Have a great day, gentlemen!

    Good morning!

    20220414_194642.jpg

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (9)
    Gillette 7 o'clock Perma-Sharp DE Blade (?)
    JR #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
    Pinaud Clubman Classic aftershave
    Arko Shave Soap
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 39 hrs

It's Good Friday so I decided to use my #1 brush that has the Celtic Cross design and a cross medallion on its base in keeping with the Christian significance of the day. I also picked out the Fatboy to make it a Good Fatboy Friday.
It is very fitting that this shave completes my commitment of 8 Arko/Adjustable shaves on Good Friday. Now, I am free to use any shaving setup for the rest of the month.
On with the shave post, the JR # 386 is really soft so I have to load it without pressing it in the Arko container, otherwise, the soap gets trapped in the bristles. As always, Arko produces a great slick lather to help the razor easily glide on my face.
I kept the Fatboy on setting 9 for my two passes with touchups that produced a BBS shave without errors. I think the blade may only have 2 more shaves because I had to do some buffing throughout this session. The blade wasn't rough, but the buffing is a clue that the blade doesn't have that many shaves left.
The alum gave me a little stinging on my neck, but none on my face. Splashed on the witch hazel and that wonderful Clubman Classic aftershave and I am good to go. Have a great day!

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Parker SRX
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
    Lather: Arko
    Aftershave: Floid Genuine

Good morning gentlemen. I decided to break my No Buy (NB) so I can add a soap or two to the newly acquired den I. The Southern Villa. Thoday’s shave represented my first use of the clean scented and slick Arko. It pair very nicely with the Floid Genuine aftershave. The Parker SRX delivered a close shave even as this was the fifth shave with this blade.

Another busy day at the Villa. I hope you have a great day gentlemen.

Much better shave this mprning with a repeat of the Throwback Thursday arsenal. I held the Barbasol under the tap for awhile to help moisten it snd it came out nicely. Very excellent along the cheeks&sideburns again, better along North Porcupine Alley(between the upper l, lip and nose), South Porcupine good again(jaw)better down at Cactus Nation(neck). Bill Neumann A.S. to the rescue for its "skin-food" strength. No cuts, Knicks, and Polka-dots. One pass. Outta This World Excellent.
