TR4’S are sweet, but I prefer the inline 6 in the TR6. Bought mine new in ‘75.

I just Edmund Fitzgerald the Gredos s
oap. I have to decide which soap is up next for the 1509.5 Project. Perhaps Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss. Scent profile is as follows: “ A crisp, clean and cool scent with a variety of mints on a freshly fallen snow with a whisper of vanilla”

Very nice shave Jeff. What about that other finisher you have used frequently in the past? Why did you choose the Suehiro instead of the other?

Excellent shave Joe. Will you replace the Proraso Green or wait another 4 years to your supply diminishes?

Congrats on finishing the soap Joe. The Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss sounds like a winner.

I spent last night at my friends place, and we enjoyed a few cold beverages, so I decided to pass on shaving with a DE today. Mainly due to lack of sleep. I'm pretty sure my technique would have been far from perfect, and that is not a good combination when mixed with an aggressive razor.

But I decided to shave with a different setup anyways.

Honestly, not bad. Of course the Bic is weighs nothing and is not as satisfying to use as some other razors. I shaved right after sauna, so my prep was pretty good.

Now I had to do quite a bit of blade buffing to get a close shave, but that is to be expected with a razor like this.

The soap was pretty good, definetly worth the price I paid for it. That said, I got it on sale, for a good price, but I would consider buying it again for the regular price. It's not the best soap ever, but a good, usable, somewhat basic soap.

    Have a great day, gentlemen!

My son has borrowed the Jasper stone, which I would have normally used, but honestly, the Suehiro is a tremendous finisher and delivers a great edge!

Glad your shave went well, Daniel! Sorry you were stuck with that disposable!

Thanks, Jeff! I guess I could have used a Tech or something, but these work well enough. The shave would have been closer with a DE though. But I don't mind, more hair to shave off tomorrow with my Game Changer!

So..I've pretty much retired from the daily rotation of razors in favor of the Shake Sharp. Have been doing a brushless shave since February and am quite happy with the revised routine.[IMG]

Nice shave session Daniel. I remember in my younger days when I used those Bic razors and thought they were great. At the time, I thought my shaves were good.
Also. I have the Mühle Sandalwood shave cream in a squeezable tube. I have only used it once and it was fine. Unfortunately, the scent is very light.

Thanks, Joe! The Bics are alright. I prefer these to any other cart or disposable actually! But a DE shaves closer, with less work, and is a lot more satisfying to use.

The scent is light on the soap too, but it's very pleasant. I wouldn't mind if it were a bit stronger though.
Have you considered using the cream for superlathers? It could be very nice if the scents go together well.

I could use it as a preshave for my headshaves. However, I use Cremo Sandalwood alone or in conjunction with Arko, Cella or Tabac for the dome shaves. To be fair, I get great slickness with my lathers that it really isn't necessary for me to do an uberlather. With most soaps,, I can get a Santa Claus Beard without adding anything else if I decide to go that way. When I do a youtube video, I will make make my lather thicker for anesthetics rather than for function. However,, I could see it for safety razor shavers as an extra prep for the beard, but for me, I get great results with a slick and thinner lather which is important for an open blade shaver like myself. Bottom line, if you have enough hydration in your lather, then it will do its job of allowing the razor to glide easily, regardless of the amount of volume.
