Here is my Shave (17.04.2022)


Razor: Weber // Blade: Personna red // Soap: Santa Maria Novella // Brush: custom made Synthetic // Aftershave: Acqua di Selva

Great shave. Coldwater Shave. I thought i did not use my Weber for a looooong time, so i thought i could give him a spin on Easter. Together with the blade it was a very nice combo. Gentle and thoroughly. 3 joyful passes.

The brush had no problems whipping up a fantastic smelling, yoghurt like lather.

As Aftershave i used the Acqua di Selva, which means „Water of the Woods“ if i am correct. Exactly that is the scent. Woodsy with undertones of Pine and something „mysteriously“ in it. Cannot describe it. It smells „cold“ but there is no menthol in, but exactly this mysterious touch is what makes this scent so well balanced. Fantastic.

Now we are heading to a Greek restaurant with the family and have some good food.

Sunday Schick shave, April 17th 2022

Razor :Schick golden 500 injector with hydro magic, Mfg 1957-64, mild range, unisex razor possibly with long handle, longest razor I own 5 3/8 inches, interesting razor and easy to clean.
Blade: Personna SS PTFE(3) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap :Ach Brito Lavanda, nice mild scent of Lavanda + excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi 24mm Mysterious space synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice scrub + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 nick(operator error)2 blemish weepers= great shave with my Schick golden 500 injector with a Personna coated blade.

White Star unscented balm I had overdone a shave earlier in the week that left me with ingrown hairs. I needed to shave but didn't want to do any more damage. My Henson AL13 and Winning Razor are you out on loan but fortunately i recently picked up another razor that is also mild but efficient, the SuperCleanShave SCS-Model A. It is a three-piece anodized aluminum and stainless steel razor which I find to be a mild yet efficient.

I have been wanting to try a Tiger Platinum blade since realizing how much I like Tatra Platinum, also made by the Czech Blades company. It seemed like the Tiger perhaps wasn't at the same level as the Tatra, both in sharpness and smoothness. It certainly wasn't unpleasant but, to me, Tatra are just that much better than anything else.

I was recently gifted some soaps and Lakewood's "Smokeberry" was my immediate favorite, at least based on fragrance. It was easy to whip into a creamy, well-hydrated lather in a bowl with the Jayaruh 347 Boar, which has broken and has soft, split bristles. The shave ended up as BBS. I'll say 9.8/10. The soap was originally a shave stick but after following internet advice to soak it, well it didnt work well. Lol the shave stick expanded and split into 4 pieces.. Well i have plenty of mugs and after a hot water soaking pressed down it got..
The shave was what i was looking for.. a smooth no issues without complications and easy. Lol

The Eskimo Tuxedo Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 Badger Brush. Two passes and no need for touch ups with the Bunny V3 Injector Razor by T. White with a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
