    Shavette Shave # 170

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Parker SRX
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
    Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Smokeberry
Aftershave: Derby City Chop Shop Small Batch Tonic- Winter Reserve
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block

Another fine Lakewood Soap shave today. Following loading the brush, face lathering for all three passes and the razor doing a stellar job removing the whiskers my face is Uber smooth. I really do not believe I can get any closer if I tried.

Up early today for another full filled day in the Sun. I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Lovely shave, Gary! I would never have identified that razor as an Aristocrat! The handle seems different from those I’ve seen. As you know, I’m certainly not the Gillette expert you are. Was it a parts shortage after the war? Just curious. Lovely photo! Hope you’re still enjoying the new job!

thank you Jeff.it is a combination of the u.s superspeed and the british flat baseplate.i guess gillette was experimenting with what was on hand just after the war ended.england didn't get the diamond stamp baseplate machinery until around 1950 so it used u.s parts on certain razors.1949 saw the first rocket based mechanism.job is great thank you..:):eatdrink047:

Nice way to close out the Stoylin Sheep soap&Bill Neumann A.S. As I proceeded South from the cheels&sideburns, I developed a couple Knicks and a Polka0dot. Further South, at the lips, I thought I was going to get a Cut-as it happened before I could shave anything.I decided to compose myself and go real easy around there. Saying to myself "Ahhhhh, this has happened before". Cactus Nation went well. I managed to shave whiskers off my Adams Apple-pleasant surprise!! Nothing to do about the Ingrown Swamp, but I shaved around the area nicely. A rough beginning turned out to be a nice ending, thanks to the cold-water rinse and Bill Neumann. Overall, I'll say Super Duper Excellent. I've been following @Primotenore 's pythagorean theory that we shouldn't worry about how we look DURING a shave-it's how we look AFTER it that counts(that was his main idea)..
