I did another face lather today. I used Col. Conk Bay Rum and my small Simpson brush. Fatip open comb wood handle razor with a Gillette silver Blue blade. The shave was very nice! Proraso after shave balm. No pre-shave. I got a very nice close shave with no nicks or cuts and no burn. I have boxed the razor back up and sent it back to Geofatboy. I almost destroyed it trying to get it apart and it separated at the solder joint of the stud to the head! The threads are locked in the handle really well! It is on it's way back now. I was able to screw the head back on to use it for one shave.

Fine shave, Hogie! It's a shame about the razor, I hope the replacement doesn't have such issues.

Well, outside of doing fine on my cheeks&sideburns, I wasn't that happy with the rest of the shave. Problems along Porcupine Alley, with a Knick on the North side, and a bad cut down South. Not much better down at Cactus Nation(neck), as two Polka-dots appeared. Whatever part of my skin that had no redness adapted well enough to provide the kind of shave we all want-getting rid of whiskers. The cold-water rinse helped a lot in calming down the bad cut at South Porcupine. Got good use of the Stoylin Spice aftershave. Hard to believe I stunk the joint up on this one, as I had my best loading experience onto the 1925 brush, for the setup. Overall, this one gets a Pretty Excellent. Time for a couple shaves with sophisticated goo Sunday and Monday. After todsy's shave, I can use a goo break.

Thank you Joe....I wish I could have used your theory for my "work" this morning. Great scent, but serious mistakes.

:signs001: Jeff...Your right the R41 with a Feather is fantastic.. Both my face & head this morning was exceptionally smooth & efficient...I now know what my problem has been with Feather blades, 1. Reading and believing exaggerated reviews that they where dangerously aggressive, which planted seeds of ultra apprehension before i even tried them. 2. Because their high standard, i "assumed" the longevity of them would have been much higher, which it isn't it's like any other DE razor, especially when doing both a face & head shave on the same blade, which is equivalent to three face shaves. Adding to that i expected too much from them...Thanks to your good self & Joe@Trigger that i should pair a feather with my R41, i now have a new favourite DE razor & blade duo for head shaving...Take care my Yankee Doodle Dandy friend, wishing you & your good lady a wonderful safe weekend.

Yours- Barry. 'The green tea drinking limey".:happy088:

:signs001: Joe...The face & head shave with the R41/Feather duo was exceptionally good!..Thanks for suggesting i give it a try, i now have a new favourite DE razor & blade duo for head shaving...My opinion of Feathers has went from undecided, to a outstandingly smooth efficient blade...Have a great weekend my friend.
