The final travel shave of the trip as we get ready to depart from Emporia in southern Virginia. I will venture to guess this leg will be the worst part of the trip as getting around The Swamp (DC) and into the NY Metro area is going to be just pure joy.

At least my day has started with a very nice, clean scent and classic shave. Also, this shave represents my last DE shave of the month. Tomorrow’s shave will present the Micromatic Monday and the rest of the month will finish with the straights.

Three passes this morning have my face smooth, refreshed and ready for the day. If all goes well I will be at the northern residence by 4 PM.

Hope you have a great day gentlemen.

These two boys will be happy to see us.

Nice Red Tip, Gary. I like mine, a lot. The wider gap makes for a better shave (IMO).

Day 6 with the Dorco blade, and it's still doing well! No issues to report, this razor is very easy to use. TOBS performed well, and the Hega aftershave is nice.

    Have a great day, gents!

You may be right, but I have also lost bristles with my Pro 49. I can understand it with Stirling because making brushes isn't their primary focus, but there's no excuse with Omega.

Great shave Barry! I think the motto for using those blades should be to be light as a Feather. Lol! Enjoy the rest of your day!

:signs001: Joe. The Feather Hi Stainless DE blade user guide should have 'Best to be used on the face as light as a Feather printed in multiple languages on the packaging! pardon the Pun, but it's true...Using them with the lightest of touch, having the shaving confidence & good technique is the secret to successful shaving results with them...However, it's vital that you should gain shaving experience & technique before you use them...Enjoy your Sunday my friend. Yours-Barry.:happy088:

Yes, I definitely agree that Feather blades should not be attempted by new wetshavers. In my opinion, a shaver should have at least 2 years of shaving with a DE on a consistent basis to try Feathers. However, if someone wants to try them sooner, then by all means go for it, but you have been warned.

I'm getting back into my routine now. I had a nice Sunday morning shave that lifted my spirits. It's a nice suny day and getting really nice so, I broke out a summer shave soap. Captain's Choice "Island Time" (Pineapple) with Proraso white pre-shave cream. Fatip open comb slant was my razor of choice with a Gillette Silver Blue blade (1). Lathered into rich lather in my bowl using my Simpson Trafalgar T3 synthetic brush. It doesn't hold onto the lather as well as a real badger but, it is a nice soft brush with a bit of backbone to it. HUGE too! The alum bar stop a small leak on my upper lip and I got no burn. VERY nice shave! Finished with Proraso Sensitive balm.

I REALLY like this Fatip razor. It seems to be a fav at Shave Nation because he is sold out of the gold & the chrome versions. I may use this one for a few days. I am being more careful around my mouth and not trying so hard to get ALL the stubble there. When I do push it, I nick and burn myself so, I will work with what I have and accept it. I do get nice close shaves now that I have re-discovered the safety razor. I like the blades too (Silver Blue).

I jumped into the "Deep" zone and started using feathers within a month of re-discovering safety razors. I have had good results.
