Lovely shave kit and summary, Joe! I agree with you regarding the NYC metropolitan area! I love my sister, but visiting her in Manorville is a real pain in the petoot!

Ikm impressed, Daniel! You either have a light beard, or those Dorco blades should give the Personna 74’s a run for the money. I can rarely get more than three shaves from any DE blade!

Great Lo Storto shave, Gary! Remember it’s your shave! Sounds like your technique’s improving around the mouth! Glad to hear the shave went relatively well!

The Feather AS-D2 really tames that blade! Great blade holder!

My beard is on the lighter side, that certainly helps! Though these blades do last longer and feel better than the Gillette Wilkinson Swords I used during my last focus.

I wish I would have owned one! I had a cheap tech clone, maybe a Rimei or something similar, when I started out. I tried the Feather blades in that razor.

I had the Feather Popular later on, and liked it. I gave it to a friend, because it was so similar to my Slim Twists, except more plasticky.

I am VERY tempted to get me some of that "Wool Fat" soap. Nice packaging and I hear good things about it. I have some many different soaps and creams now that I really don't need one more but, I do like to try new things and to have the variety. I do have a more difficult time deciding which one to use every morning tho! LOL
So many good ones I have now. It is a luxury for sure.

Paul, he was using a lime scented soap and inadvertently described it sublime without thinking about the word play. We all have said something that was a pun, but it wasn't due to a conscious effort to choose a word for a punny effect.

You need to use what you like. I have gradually over the years pretty much settled on MWF. I have several other soaps and creams, but the only ones I use consistently are MWF, Castle Forbes, and Nancy Boy.

    April 24 SOTD

    Good afternoon.

    1955 Gillette Redtip
Gillette 7'o'clock Perma-Sharp DE Blade (fresh)
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    Razorock Classic SS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 28 hrs.

Honestly, I got a nice shave yesterday that I could have waited until this evening or tomorrow morning, but I make it a point to shave before I go to services.
Anyway, this setup was to be in conjunction with Gary's Redtip shave this morning. It's been awhile since I used this razor and it's about time that I did so. This razor is non-adjustable and I consider it mild to intermediate in aggression. However, it still can get you if you're not careful as I can attest.
I really loaded the brush quite heavily because I am trying to deep-six it. I swirled the brush 200x clockwise and 200x in the reverse direction on the puck. Have to say the lather was very creamy that it was easy to paint on my face and neck.
I did 2 passes plus a pickup on my lower right neck for a BBS shave. Did get a polka dot on the pink part of my lip on the first pass. I knew it as soon as I felt it, but it was tiny so I hit it with alum and then the styptic pencil. I decided to go across the grain on my second pass. Everything went well on my face, but did get a weep on my neck. I was greedy on the pickup that I put a tad too much pressure and coupled with the wrong angle gave me the weep. Did the same treatment like I did with the polkadot on my lip to eradicate it.. I also attribute the weep to changing my second pass from my usual against-the-grain to my infrequent across-the-grain pass on this shave. I just want to say I like the 7'o'clock Perma-Sharp blades. They may not be as smooth as other blades but they get the job done.
Did get some alum feedback, but nothing crazy. Finished with the Dickinson's Witch Hazel and a double splash of Pinaud Clubman Classic aftershave. Overall, it was a very nice shave. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Clubman's worked for me since I was a teenager. I guess what I'm saying is, among my other shave products, I've made sure, since my teen years, to include Clubman.
