Yes, I saw the resemblance as well. It is one of my favorites and is a more aggressive razor. Great with Feather blades. And it was not all that expensive.

I like blade feel as well so I understand. Razors come with different geometric specs. Razors with more blade exposure and blade gap will give you serious blade feel. However, there are mild to intermediate efficient razors that give some blade feel too. My two Rockwell's and my mild inexpensive Van der Hagen are examples.

Two things came today. The Fatip Olive wood handle open comb and the Single edge Artist Club clone that Jeff sent me to try. This looks like it would be easier to master than the folding one. Or am I wrong? I laid it against my face and easily found the correct angle. I will try it out tomorrow along with my new Fatip. I have my things already laid out. I am not sure if I want to blend any cream with my MWF. I like it as it is! I will stick with the Proraso Blue pre-shave cream thru the month.

Hope your shaves will be great with those two razors. When using the kami style shavette, stretching the skin is important. Here is a YouTube video of GeoFatboy using a similar shavette. I would start at 5:10 because the first 5 minutes are the intro, describing the razor, illustrating how to load the blade into the razor and loading the brush and lathering the face for the 1st pass. Enjoy!

Glad it finally arrived, Gary! MWF works well for me with my open edge blades! Just worry about WTG strokes on your cheeks to start. Continue for a few days. As your comfort with the tool develops continue to expand WTG to your neck and chin. That loaded Softguard should serve you well for at least 5-7 shaves.

    Good evening!

    Shannon's Soap The Warrior
    Stirling Spice AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 31 hrs

I was just itching to shave tonight. Did not want to wait tomorrow. Anyway, my shave was nice and smooth. Shannon's takes on plenty of water to get a nice, creamy, slick lather. The alum feedback was negligible. Finished with the witch hazel and the Stirling Spice Aftershave. I smell nice and fresh. :D Have a great evening.
