one could replate it but it could decrease it's value.mechanically solid with no wear, just flaking shellac with age.i have the nickel senator that i enjoy using and is more durable.this problem with u.s gold razors from the 30s-late 40s is common.so ..if it were sentimental to me it would change everything and i would replate it.or i could use it up.i do keep it clean and properly stored to help preserve it.beyond that it's a bit of a shelf queen.i have a 46-7 u.s aristocrat that may do the same, but not showing signs yet,at least to the naked eye, it will happen to it too eventually if i use it,or not.hence my lack of love for gold razors..today's new gold plating is far more durable due to plating thickness, but again,i prefer nickel or rhodium..i may pass them along if someone showed interest.:)

    It's a fantastic scent!
And it was good enough for the Beatles too!

George Harrison is also shaving with a 1960's Gillette Slim-Twist, from the same era as mine.

My Slim Twist is from the mid 60s too.

I've just put my reading glasses on and realised that "The Fab Four" are all shaving with a Gillette Slim-Twist (uk).superb razors, to my knowledge the US version was "The Knack"...not sure if it from the same era though?.

    She has and she did!

As a "revenge", I got her hooked up on Yes. And other prog rock too. I actually dragged her to Jon Andersons concert when I was a teenager. :D

I agree, Mick Taylor made the stones.."sticky fingers"..is superb,he never got the respect, recognition or any money from the album that really made the stones...

i think the knack razor was mid 70's,the black handle flare tip was more common state side i believe also..could easily be wrong..not really researched them.most of the slim twist/knack razors were European market including England, possibly Canada also.
