Most shavettes only use 1/2 DE Blades, but some use injector and long SE Hairshaper blades.

Excellent shave Joe. What prompted you to get your first DE razor?

very cool.i am using up my creams then soft soaps.the hard soaps get an occasional use to keep them hydrated.or that's the loose plan ..;).too many "look squirrel "incidents..:)

It was a puck soap from "Classic Shaving" that is for sensitive skin. I like their brush but, not this soap. I also got a Lavender puck that fills the room with scent! I have not used that one yet. Just smelling the soap is WOW! I already have 2 lavender creams going and no empty bowl yet so, that one will wait. I am looking forward to trying it.

That is a nice looking razor. It is one I had never heard of before coming to this forum. It looks hefty. I like hefty razors!:)

thank you Gary.it's a rhodium plate high end brit gillette that was produced for a short time.

it's based on the new rfb open comb design shown in the right hand corner.

i use it with the french #9 tech handle that is heavier.better weight and balance.

I got a bottle of the ML EDT as a birthday present from my sister last year most of my EDT's & EDP's are from Milton Lloyd which have been gifts the ML "The Man Cobalt" is apparently a take on Dior Fahrenheit according to my sister it's very close to the original formulation. To my nose, it reminds me of davidoff cool water, but I'm not the best in describing scents..It lasts a few hours max,I've had people giving me good comments about it too asking me if I'm wearing Fahrenheit.

When I think of a shavette, Gary, I also think of the Dovo or Parker, both of which use split DE blades. The DX uses AC (Artist Club) blades which are longer versions of the standard SE injector blade. These blades were made to meet the professional barber’s need for a replaceable blade razor that met increasingly stringent hygiene laws, which is why Feather, Kai and in fact all AC shavers are sometimes referred to as barber’s razors. There are hair trimmer blade shavers like the Weck which uses a larger blade. The Dovo can also accommodate a hair trimmer blade, but I seem to remember Joe (@Trigger) mentioning that the fixture to hold it in place is becoming increasingly more difficult to find. By the way, Feather magazines are designed for hands free magazine insertion into the blade holder.

The Pro-Guard blades will be here Monday. I will try them out this next week. It is hard to not shave so the beard is longer to try out the DX! LOL I enjoy shaving so much now.
