Thank you Hogie. The Merkur 37c was my first DE since the mid’70’s. The DE razor that I had when I was a teenager, Gillette Super Adjustable 109, has long since disappeared. I seemed to have misplaced it when I left for college.
I have toyed in my mind to pick up the”Fatip Lo Sorto” but I think I have more than enough DE’s in the den. I guess I could use the excuse of purchsing the Lo Sorto for the Southern Villa in Florida.

Since you enjoy this soap company’s slickness why don’t you pick up the unscented version for days that you want to use whatever splash tickles your fancy. Great shave nonetheless.

The razor I would recommend to anybody who really likes to feel the blade is the Razorine Flatboy. It has nice heft with the stainless handle. Crisp machining so, you won't drop this one. Also the brass head is nicely done. It says Solid Brass & Made in Italy on the other side. LOTS of feedback.

I was getting tired of using carts. I had used a DE razor in my teenage years, Gillette Super Adjustable 109. Following returning home fro. College I could not find it. I just enjoyed my shaves with the DE as well as nostalgic reasons (ie. Both grandfathers used them). The same can be said for my fascination with straights. However, it took me years to build up the courage to purchase one which I did in 2002. That razor is my Theirs-Issard Super Gnome 5/8 Round.

It is a very good razor indeed! Not too aggressive, but efficient. I think I might like the Fatip slant more though.
Thanks, Jeff! She was like a parent to me, I saw her almost every day and spent a lot of time with her, and took care of her (with my mother) during her last months.

She made a living as an artist, I have a lot of her paintings, that I will never get rid of. I also have her old Polaroid camera that she used a lot. I should buy some film for it and do a photography project of some sort.
    Thank you, Joe!

Thanks Joe.. The Gentlemen's Nod Fred is the unscented version. However, I wouldn't buy G/N soaps because you have to use plenty of soap to lather a thin, translucent later. I buy soaps for scents, performance and value and G/N doesn't check all the boxes.

You're in good company Jeff. I sometimes scratch my head at Paul's comments.
