There’s a fair bit of chipping on that edge although it looks like the edge is restorable. I don’t see any cracks. If you ever consider a starter straight, rather than the Bay where there’s many problems lurking for the newbie, I would strongly recommend the Sharp Razor Palace Forum BST or The SRP Exchange on FB. Look for Bouschie (Len Cucurato). He always has superbly honed low priced starter straights. Shave ready on the Bay can frequently be a problem for folks starting out.

    good morning gents.
fine shave with the brit rfb/platinum blade
the nacet is still loaded in the brit tech hybrid for it's 5th or 6th work run.don't remember..;)
the glorious lemon scented fendrihan hard soap lathered beautifully.
really nice for an in house brand, though made in france.
fine italian citrus sealed the deal.
little difference shave wise between the rfb and the tech hybrid, though the open comb gives a slightly different feel.
    awesome.
    have a great sunday everyone.

:signs001: Jeff..The 1914 isn't my favourite vintage SE Ever Ready, like yours it's in good condition and doesn't a bent comb.
It took me a few shave's to bond with it, as the 1912 models both US &UK version's i gelled with them almost instantly...I like the audio feedback you get from SE & injector razors.

I had a very enjoyable shave today. I took my time. I am REALLY liking the Flatboy razor a LOT! It glides along smoothly and the Japanese Stainless Platinum blade works well in this razor for me. This blade is now done with it's 3rd shave. I could possibly stretch these blades to a week but, I will toss after 4. Yes, the angle for this razor is steep. You pretty much ride the cap and get very loud feedback which I like. The handle has just the right heft to it. Easy to hold onto even using the slippery Wool Fat soap.

Pre-shave continues with the Proraso Blue which cools the face with Aloe & Vitamin E. I heated my bowl and brush and at the same time put enuff HOT water on top of the Wool Fat to submerge. Then I took my wash cloth and heated it up to hold against my face to warm my beard. I then apply the pre-shave cream and rub it into my beard. Then I pour off the bloom water into a mug and then use my Satin Tip white synthetic brush to start making lather while loading the brush tip. After getting some into the bowl, I whisk to cream the creamy lather and then apply to my face. I got a really pleasant 3-pas shave with plenty of cream left over! I hate to throw it away!

Finished with Caaptain's Choice "Venture" balm and a splash of "Clubman"AS after alum bar sweep of my face.

Alum bar smoothed the face and gave zero feedback. No cuts, nicks, or weepers. I must say one of my better shaves! I will continue using the Flatboy for now! I REALLY like this razor!

Thanks, Jeff! I'm finding the R41 to be a good razor. It's not quite as forgiving as my Fatip slant, but more so than my .84 JAWS. All of which can provide an excellent shave, when used with good technique. Each of them are very efficient.
    Thank you, Gary!
